Florida GOP ‘Fed Up’ With DeSantis’ Pre-2024 Agenda: ‘We’re Not The Party of Cancel Culture’

Oh dear god is that good…an insult mash-up for the ages.

“…legislators are “deeply frustrated” by Desantis’ zeal for using his party’s supermajority in the statehouse to make headlines and get attention at a national level ahead of an expected 2024 announcement.”

Smells like burnt Scott Walker and there’s still 18mos to the GE.

Being underage, your cat used to try to get me to buy beer and cigarettes for him. Glad I said no so he could reach old age.

That’s a NYC Bodega Cat, which apparently is a thing.

I’m pretty sure that the GOP hasn’t had any real “plans” since at least Clinton in the White House. Now that they essentially have abortion banned, they keep moving from hate to hate trying to stay “in touch” with their base while trying not to say anything out loud.

I was gonna say…yeah, yeah you are the party of cancel culture. You all in the legislature just said, yes, sir, whatever you want sir, and you did that and NOW you are tired of being steamrolled? Hahahahahaha too bad for you!

The folks at the 7/11 store knew where my cat’s home was but he was still welcome there to visit.

@ClutchCargo

This cat began life as a feral boy. He is still very independently minded, but has given up his wanderings. He’s content with our bedroom/bathroom and outside “cat porch” which is fenced and wired so coyotes cannot get to him. And yes there are wandering coyotes in Tucson.

The best outcome in this would be for DeSantis to declare his run for POTUS which in Florida law means he hasta quit being governor. Then he loses the nomination to trump and ends up unemployed and hated in his state. trump goes on to ignominious defeat in a landslide defeat in the general election (carrying only Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas) further enshrining Florida as the preferred state for losers to go lick their wounds in.

And Borowitz is a national treasure.

I live in Florida. My distinct impression from the local news channels is the Republicans are the party of cancel culture. I don’t give a shit about what some “forward looking” Republicans are telling journalists. Republicans sure act like Florida is the state of cancel culture.

Yes. Florida Democrats were noticeably absent during the mid terms. Florida re-elected the charlatan by a large margin, while other reasonably evenly divided states spanked the Republicans for exactly the same crap Florida elected De Santis to continue.

I’m guessing some legislators’ wives or side squeezes have been cutting them off.

This has been another episode of “republicans did something bad and it’s the democrats fault”. Brought to you by reasons.

Keep in mind deSnivel is stuck in an “I have not yet begun to campaign” mode, because until the lege changes the law (expected this year), he can’t declare without resigning the governorship.

The Florida Democratic Party is having to rebuild from the ground up. Yes, this is a broad generalization. But from what I’ve heard from folks who live there (I fortunately left decades ago), they simply didn’t evolve. The “old guard” didn’t exactly try to grow, and sadly it showed.

And there is of course the normal Republican shenanigans.
