Florida GOP ‘Fed Up’ With DeSantis’ Pre-2024 Agenda: ‘We’re Not The Party of Cancel Culture’

Bootsie Meatball has not learned the first rule of running a dictatorship. The inner circle needs some cuddling and benefits in exchange for their support.

DeSantis got it all wrong, yes, you have to be a once in a generation asshole to score with the MAGA voters, but you have to be an asshole with charisma.

Their problem is that in reelecting DeSantis with a wide margin they gave him the political capital to be who he really is. This guy they don’t like too much is Ron DeSantis. The real one. Uncensored and in the raw and he’s not changing.

The Meatball thinks he’s got a shot at something besides being governor of an under water state. More delusional than Pence. Well, almost.

He and the orange one should have a Thunderdome match in the Sargassum.

“We’re not the party of cancel culture,” an anonymous GOP legislator told Politico. “We can’t keep doing this tit for tat.”

Au contraire—they are the ne plus ultra of cancel culture, and Li’l Puddin’ Boots is the walking, whining proof.

Florida Speaker of the House Paul Renner has been in the state legislature since 2015. Guess what all that time there has been a Republican governor. So 8 years in and you’re just now getting your agenda passed?

What? Are you saying that in point of fact, much of the MAGA agenda is NOT supported by a majority of voters, if given an option? (Although the majority of them seem more than willing to take some questionable as long as they get to stick it to their hate object du jour…)

This is actually horrible for Trump. Trump punches down…and there may well be some GOPers who will make that a little harder.

Cue the Jonathan Chait piece arguing why these GOP Florida guys don’t have the pulse of the right wing.

The contemptuous ease with which Trump is batting DeSantis aside shows that DeSantis was never really ready to play on the national stage. It is increasingly looking like he was only in the conversation as an alternative to Trump because The Donald is so deep in legal troubles.

Did you not see the word “supermajority”?
