President Donald Trump’s first official State of the Union back in office was previewed as “long,” and it met expectations. And though it clocked in as the longest ever, listeners will be left wondering what, exactly, warranted that length. The night was a slow plod through Trump’s take on his first year back in office,…

Shocking, that someone might point out that shutting down FEMA adversely impacts disaster recovery.

I am glad you watched the SOTU speech. I didn’t. I gave up watching liars lie for lent.

Attacking trans kids seems to be an issue that activates the remaining MAGA rubes. I guess Mathew 7:12 is not part of the white Christian Nationalist bible.

From what I gather, he didn’t mention Greenland or AI, but did say we are “winning”, so much “winning”.

Everything is going back to the Epstein files. Ignore the SOTU. Epstein will be the big story.

Several studies have found U.S. companies and consumers foot the tariff bill.

Studies? They directly tax the importer. You don’t need a study for that.

And they don’t give the money back.

Speaking at the Economic Club of Dallas in the aftermath of the ruling, the Treasury secretary said the Supreme Court had not ruled on how the funds generated under the IEEPA should be handled, so that decision will be pushed back to international trade courts.

He continued: “My sense is that could be dragged out for weeks, months, years, so … we’ll see what happens there.” Bessent added that using alternative methods like Section 232 (a national security justification) or Section 301 (unfair trade practices) means tariff revenue generation won’t drop or slow. But on the IEEPA revenues, he noted: “I got a feeling the American people won’t see it.”

Probably since time immemorial, pols have exaggerated and shaded the truth. However, in my decades as a political junkie, I can never remember a time when so many major national pols just repeatedly straight up lied to the American people. That trend may be the darkest lasting legacy of Trumpism.

Isn’t that the Country randomly bombing fishing boats?

Of course the silence got under Trump’s skin: He has arranged his life to be constantly surrounded by sycophants telling him how magnificently great his every move is. He has forgotten how to deal with people who are critical of, or even indifferent to him.

Trump: “I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great vice president, JD Vance”

Part of the messaging for the midterms. The GOP is saying it will not accept the results of elections in which it cannot control the outcome.

So they’re admitting their Epstein Administration illegally stole money from the american people, committed sloppy accounting fraud, looted the treasury, bankrupted american companies, hurting Americans all across the country, in order to cover up their Epstein lifestyles, greed, and other corrupt acts?

The gov is already being sued by multiple large importers: Costco, FedEx, and several states to name a few… this illegal extortion of americans will continue to build up until the midterms.

Your move, secretary.

one thing is certain, I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror to have a nuclear weapon.

It’s a little late for that, we’ve already got them, and not only that we have an asshole with his finger on the button.

I’m not getting my hopes up on this one. There are only two things that are new here: 1) The fact that the DOJ withheld this information, while releasing a few others that directly accuse Trump, in violation of the bill to release the files, and 2) The fact that the FBI considered this one important enough to interview the accuser several times, and those interviews are being withheld.

There is still nothing here as far as I can tell other than one person’s accusation, without any corroborating evidence by other witnesses or physical evidence. Without that, it’s going nowhere.

Odd how our society prefers to believe a known liar who hung out with a rapist for years over a victim.

There might not be enough to convict Donald except in the court of public opinion.
