First Day Of AZ Audit Of 2020 Election Goes Off The Rails Immediately | Talking Points Memo

Well that didn’t take long.

The sketchy Arizona Senate GOP-ordered audit of the 2020 election began in earnest on Friday and almost immediately ran into trouble, in the form of a court order forcing it to temporarily pause its proceedings through the weekend.

I guess it just would have been too shady to put Lin Wood directly in charge of the recount?

So in an election where republicans are accusing democrats of falsifying ballots, the republicans have actually put themselves in a position to falsify ballots. Entirely accidentally.

Gotcha.

ETA: Apparently after this was pointed out and publicized the auditors switched to red and green before working on actual ballots. Good on them for switching, but bad for the initial choice between malice and utter incompetence.

I read that and assumed it meant that Lin Wood and Sidney Powell couldn’t agree on the final vote count the “audit” should produce.

The blue ink thing is actually a very concerning problem, because I am willing to bet there is a high undervote on the presidential ballots for many people who otherwise vote Republican. This is what my mother and her sister both did. If those ballots somehow suddenly got marked for Trump, the count could indeed swing.

I hope they have someone with million dollar pockets to fund this before 5:00.

OT, but this guy makes me fucking sick. Here we have a black guy who thinks he’s found the ultimate “trump card” to DC statehood because he thinks so little of his fellow black people that he believes they will vote for having no taxes instead of having representation…

For either of those two, to get his ass whipped by a Black Policewoman would be fitting.

Cowards, both.

And… when all is said and done, their cooked numbers won’t

1- be seen as legitimate by anyone outside Republicans nut jobs circles,
2- will further raise distrust in elections by low propensity Republican voters, and
3- will depress Republican turnout in 2022 (see Georgia senate runoffs)
4- lastly, it won’t change the 2020 election results

Carry on crazy caucus, carry on.

Not surprising, this so-called audit had “cluster f*ck” written all over it from the very beginning. Talk about GOP attempts to “steal the vote,” this is all too obvious.

Election fraud in action. Brought to you by the AZ Republican Party. You can’t spell CRAZY without AZ (you also can’t spell NAZI without AZ in case you want to).

That’s not very promising that the guy in charge doesn’t know the rules.

They had to use blue ink, otherwise it would be obvious when they changed votes to make the evidence of fraudulent counting.

Of course it will. MyPillow himself has assured us that Trump will be back in office by August.

There were a total of 8,475 undervotes in the presidential election in Maricopa County, out of 2,089,563 ballots cast. That’s about 0.4%. Even if they filled them all in for Trump – which would be blindingly obvious when all the undervotes suddenly disappeared from the audited numbers – it still wouldn’t be enough.
