Good she’s receiving the care she needs. Also, it would be good were the work she was elected to do were getting done. History, alas, is full of contingencies.

Weekend 15 months at Bernie’s ?

Sadly, I think even if she were ready she knows Republicans will screw around w/ committee replacement.

For the Record, I mean this comment as a pointer to Republican assholishness, not a dig on Diane

Why do so many politicians do this? Why not go out at the top of your game, proudly, with all your marbles? This weird kind of pride has not proven beneficial for anyone in recent years.

Maybe you should have to pass a driver’s test and remember “person woman man camera TV” to stay in office?

Everything else aside, I feel bad for her.

Same reason RGB hung on too long with disastrous results. How can you go from one moment being the center of a universe to the next being a has been, plus of course a whole host of employees that depend on you staying in the position.

Egomania? Just spitballing…

This may just be speculation, but I suspect that McConnell froze at the podium because he had a clear vision in his mind that he’s going to Hell.

Yes… but

It is now Republican bullshit.

She can’t even retire because Republicans won’t let her committee seat get filled.

It’s imperative that someone ask McConnell again, TODAY, if Republicans would allow the Judiciary committee seat be filled.

see if he is now more reasonable.

Nope. He thinks he’s righteous.

The Democratic party seems intent on riding the Boomers and the silent generation to the end.

It must be difficult to find younger people.

You meant this rhetorically, I assume?

To be Fair, in House Leadership, they skipped Boomers altogether.

They jumped to Gen X.

(Technically Clark is a late Boomer)

Yeah, the RGB thing still gives me the vapors. She’s my favorite SCOTUS Justice ever, but she undermined her own legacy. I’d say it’s a shame, but it’s more than that, given that we may have to live with the repercussions for a very long time.

I guess it’s just one of those character flaws possessed by most anyone who’d go into politics, even for good reasons.

I’ve heard politics described as showbiz for ugly people…

Hang on Diane! Dig down deep and let’s hope your inner instincts and character can blast through the fog to guide you to the finish line!

Were circumstances different, I’d say let there be a graceful transition - but since it has been made clear that the GQP is committed to engaging in fuckery & will disregard professional courtesy & will instead obstruct any & all efforts to have an effective replacement with any powers should Feinstein resign or pass … well then it pretty much is Diane or nothing …so then it is…
C’mon Diane - rally for a strong finish!
