Feds Say ‘No Option’ For Testing Support In PA County As Cases Reach New National High | Talking Points Memo

There’s “no option” for more support for COVID-19 testing after June 30, the federal government told local officials in one Pennsylvania county, part of a pullback in support for testing sites around the country.

“And while you can request and hope for assistance from higher levels of government — whether it’s regional, or the county, or the federal government — you need to be somewhat self-sufficient, as well,” he added.

Shorter: “We’re on our own,”

We’ve always been on the shorter end when dealing with Trump’s maladministration. Wonder where all the money for these crises are is going?

Why is there no option for continued federal support for testing?

Donnie’s “testing is bad for me politically” mantra?

Because Donnie and Jarvanka couldn’t figure a good way to grift off of it?

Lack of money? If it’s lack of money, where did all the money go?

I’m looking at you, House Democrats, to look into this.

Well, wherever it is, we aren’t going to learn about it. By the time we do, it will be gone. Probably gone already.

According to Montgomery County Department of Public Safety Public Affairs Coordinator ETA and full time idiot Todd Stieritz, “everything starts local, and everything ends local, pretty much.”

I have never felt so vulnerable in my life. That has been the privilege of the typical white man in the U.S. To not feel threatened or intimidated generally has been a true privilege. Now the chickens have come home to roost. The free lunch is over. Seeing the closing of Covid-19 testing and the closing of many polling places throughout the south is a death knell of sorts. Where are the law enforcers? Who do we ask about this? The country is upside down and inside out. “No Option”. That sounds like a prison guard type of statement to me. “No option, for you, pal.” This isn’t tough love. It’s more like cruelty because they can and no one is big enough to stop it.

I’m guessing that the Rump administration knows they won’t win Pennsylvania in November, so fuck them.

So…no support for blue counties after June 30.

HHS did not immediately return a request for comment. The agency has downplayed the importance of federal support for the community-based testing sites, saying that a **separate program involving public-private partnerships would counterbalance any decrease in testing due to the loss of federal support.

Public-private partnerships? WTF? And who is suppose to be setting these up this close to the end of the month?

Well, if it wasn’t certain before this, it is now!

It’s the houses of congress who should be shitting bricks because there is a tight race in the county next to MontCo in Bucks County (my county) for Fitzpatrick plus Toomey’s senate seat comes up in 2022.

Fitzpatrick’s Dem opponent is Christina Finello and she’s fantastic! Anyone able to help support her campaign, here’s the link.

Montgomery County is a sprawling suburb of Philly, traditionally more Republican than Democratic, but that was in the days of reasonable Republicans (so decades ago). The suburban upper middle class white vote there is most assuredly going Biden’s way so they must be punished.

This is actually great news. MontCo (along with Chester, Bucks and Delaware Counties) are highly populated, wealthy and swing suburbs of Philadelphia. Having Trump screw this county over 5 months before the election will hurt him In a geographic area that is crucial to carrying the state. He should be doing everything he can to make people happy in SE PA. When your enemy is defeating himself, stay out of the way.

It still amazes me how stupid Trump’s team is. This policy is inevitably going to hurt his base more than everyone else because they predominantly live in the places that can’t afford to set up shop on their own, or even have the budgets to even move money around if they wanted too. For a man stuck at 42-43% approval the last 3 and a half years, he might still manage to show us what it looks like in the 20’s before he’s thru.

Same here in Texas. Biden is in a dead heat with Trump here. The GOP is on the verge of losing this state on the state and federal levels. Wall St. told a bunch of investors today to get ready for a Democratic Senate - the money wizards are betting on it now.

That’s why both Cornyn and Cruz today came out and asked the federal government to reconsider - so they at least look like they care. It isn’t going to fool anybody.
