Didn’t the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (aka “Patriot Act”) actually require that when a suspect’s phone records were accessed, they must not be notified? Didn’t most of those same Senators (because they never leave office barring death) sign off on it?
Oh, I guess it, like every other law, only applies to Democrats and other non-Republicans. Sorry.

It’s a problem because they say whatever they need to say in the moment to get by the current situation. So you have Trump saying he’ll release the Epstein files during the campaign to get elected. And, when he does, says at various points, there are files, there are no files, that it’s a Democratic hoax, etc.
When you string all of the excuses together over the entire timeline, you can see the Emperor has no clothes. Practically literally. The only consistent thread is the avoidance of any and all responsibility.
