A federal judge on Wednesday refused to toss the criminal contempt of Congress case against Steve Bannon, saying that Bannon’s claims that the material the Jan. 6 committee sought was protected by executive privilege weren’t enough to dismiss the case.
It’s almost like some of these people have done things that are illegal and are being held accountable.
How dare those members of Congress and prosecutors and judges do such a thing to those who consider themselves waaaay above the reach of laws and rules and all those things that are just for us little people.
Nichols also declined to find that the Jan. 6 committee structure was invalid — countering a claim by Bannon that it improperly lacked appointees of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Politico noted.
Weak tea. You’re losing your touch, Stevie boy. If it lacked McCarthy appointees, the blame for that falls squarely upon Kev’s drooping shoulders.
Bannon thinks he’s going to show them up somehow by subpoenaing them. They may have been subpoenaed----but whether or not the judge allows them to testify is an open question.
Bannon is just engaging in a little chest-beating superiority dance, and he’ll come a cropper soon enough.
