The mask of the charade that the Republican Party is the party of “law and order” is ripped off every day. Every damned day.

Up to now, TrumpWorld, TrumpMinions, GOP, etc. have had the benefit of using the slow and deliberate processes of the Justice System to behave as though “slow” meant “no-charges-coming”…

Man. That’s the state GOP chair? They used to all look like Babbitts. This guy looks like he’s spent a lot of time beating people with pool cues.

Correct, ask Andrew Gillum (Florida).

It’s great to see DOJ arising from its stupor and finally seriously investigating the fake elector scheme. One can only hope they similarly wake up and finally investigate all of Trump and his regime’s attempted coup activities.
Sorry for the negative view, but DOJ literally ignored Trump’s obstruction of justice and witness tampering in the Russia and Ukraine scandals so it’s hard to muster much enthusiasm.

Love it. They’re always so upbeat and ferocious in public, so full of mockery and disdain. Then one day there’s a knock on the door and it’s the FBI with a warrant to take your phone. Life is full of ups and downs, fat boy.

Have you seen Robert Morrow, the former chair of the Travis County, Texas GOP?

The Right has that locked down. We are more introspective, measured and, well, fair. The Right disdains that and looks at our compassion for our fellow man as weakness.
Never stopped them from taking government money coming their way.

Interesting. I’m always pondering the messages people send about themselves. The hat says “I’m a fun guy,” and the rest of the outfit says “Any lame-o with delusions of amusingness can buy a hat.”

It looked to me that the connections between Georgia, Wisconsin, and the White House made for the strongest links in the coup plot. Seems I’m wrong. The connection does not limit itself to a few locations. The criminal network is nationwide.
From what I can tell about McDonald, he does not appear to be the kind of person who would cover his digital footprints very well. The question that comes to mind is how many contacts have been made between his phone and burner phones routed through towers in the DC area on or about January 6, 2021?

This seems to tie in with Josh’s latest editorial where he talks about building the fake elector cases because it is documented so well with people signing documents basically saying “yes, I am trying to break the law”. Joyce Vance talked on the Cafe Insider podcast about going after Trump for his lesser financial crimes in the same way, recalling getting Al Capone on income tax evasion as a primary example of this strategy. So maybe they can’t prosecute them for the worst things they have done, but they can build incontrovertible and documented cases for these lesser crimes.
I’m all for it. I get that no one wants to indict Trump (and all that it entails, including likely mob violence and possible deaths of innocent people, unless you are 99% sure of getting a conviction.
