It’s a great relief; but, I hesitate to use that analogy.
I always associate to when W, Cheney, Rumsfeld & Co. were billed as the ‘adults’ taking over from the somehow immature Clinton administration.
It kinda makes my skin crawl.

In hindsight, I can’t say I miss tfg’s scandal du jour.
It’s a great relief not to have his malfeasance hanging over the polity and sucking all of the air out of the news cycle.

I don’t remember that part, but then I probably wasn’t paying attention, or as much attention at the time.
I will say this that when 9-11 happened I seemed to be one of few people who weren’t surprised. Because other countries had been attacked, and in fact I was in Kenya at the time. And they bombed the US Embassy in Kenya two years before.

I was just saying to my wife last night that we’re being treated to a display of blazing competency. It’s a nice change.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure the person on the street sees or appreciates this.

Totally agree! It’s like a weight has been lifted.
That being said, though, here he is sucking up all the attention of the media again. Everything is about him, again. He has this unique ability to suck all the oxygen out of the room.

If you were watching from abroad or if you envisioned a dystopian novel it would have been amusing to laugh at the scandal du jour .
