FBI agents have arrested one of the leading contenders for the Republican nomination for governor in Michigan over misdemeanor charges related to his actions during the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
“ Kelley built a name for himself railing against COVID-19 health measures. He also organized a protest of the removal of a Confederate statue near his home. In addition to being near the front lines of the Jan. 6 riot — though he maintains he did not enter the Capitol Building — Kelley was also involved in a protest at the Michigan state capitol where participants entered the building.”
My home state. At least it still has a Democratic Governor and two senators.
As for the senate doing something about gun violence… when the donors are pissed off then the senators will listen. How very craven.
New York (CNN Business)More than 200 business leaders, representing employees in all 50 states, sent a joint letter to the Senate on Thursday, demanding “bold urgent action” to address gun violence in the wake of the killing of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last month.
Well yeah, I suppose.
Politics is a horror show, a blood sport, a money trough and hall of lies for personal gain no matter the party. There never has been any thought of personal honor or the benefit of the country for at least 50 years. It takes a Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor sort of event for the Legislative branch to be roused from its money grubbing self indulgent torpor.
Lou Gohmert was right that the DOJ is now unjust against Republicans. Not only can lying to FBI agents be prosecuted but also participating in a riot inside the Capitol against Congress certifying the Electoral College vote will get a Republican arrested. Looks like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson have another guest this evening on their shows boycotting the January 6 hearings. Pretty soon the only sure way to be a guest will be to be out on bail.
The only way to get GOP senators to vote for measures that limit access to the machines of mass murder is if corporate America refuses en masse to donate to their campaigns and the RNC.
Corporate American, if you are listening, the ball is in your court.
