National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci added to the uncertainty surrounding the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak during Sunday morning TV interviews.
And I hope I’ve been discovered to be the heir of some long lost U.K. relative and in line to become extremely wealthy and inherit an Earldom and the “Downton Abbey” estate.
Completely off topic, but there has been no thread on this. Bibi Netanyahu is about to be booted out of power in Israel.
His coalition fell 3 seats short of winning a majority. Avigdor Lieberman, Bibi’s former defense minister and a party of 1 basically, won 7 seats. In the last 2 elections, he was unwilling to support a center left coalition that included Arab parties because he’s too damn racist. However, now his hatred of Bibi and his disdain for Orthodox Jews living under different rules than secular Jews have won him over to support a center left gov’t led by Benny Gantz and supported by Arab parties. Gantz agreed to a number of Lieberman’s conditions, and it is getting close to a done deal. That coalition will have 62 seats, 1 more than needed to form a gov’t.
I think letting Fauci go on signals that Trump has learned, to a greater or lesser degree, that people want to hear from experts and are not reassured by his mumbling bullshit. I am sure Fauci is choosing his words somewhat carefully, but we can at least rest assured that the things he does say are actual facts or probabilities.
Of course, if the stock market continues to pit, all bets are off…
