‘Fascists!’: Tennessee GOPers Spark Outrage With Push To Oust Dems Who Joined Gun Protests

Tennessee Republicans introduced resolutions Monday evening to expel three Democratic members from the state House after they participated in a protest against lax gun laws from the floor of the chamber last week in the wake of the Nashville school shooting.

Of course there’s a cousin-mistress. The peeing surprised me more.

So the Republicans want to kick out two Black men and a White woman.

Ever notice how “WOK” always seems to an attack on anything that criticizes or otherwise threatens White male privilege.

The fascist cult, with support of about 40% of the population has entered into open revolt against our nation. Hard to see any good solutions unless some of the fascist cult backs away from their support for corruption in government and violence as political speech.

Gloria Johnson is a personal friend of mine, and I know the other two by reputation.

They’ll be expelled—they’ve already been stripped of their committee assignments—and in special elections held 90 days from now, they’ll be re-elected.

Cameron Sexton is a full-blown fascist who’s flexing his GQP muscles because they have a super-majority from their successful efforts to gerrymander the state districts.

It’s a huge embarrassment to Tennessee.

The Tennessee Repubs are taking it directly from the playbook:

White supremacy is dying a very messy, very protracted death.

My thoughts immediately go to you when I hear about something coming out out of TN, and now especially with attempts to do something constructive around gun laws

To quote the Dude, “This aggression will not stand, man.”

If they get away with this anti-democratic horror, it’s just gonna get worse. Heartening to see such pushback. I hope this bites them in the ass, hard.

Does Sexton also not wear his suit jacket? Because some of his reported speech and behavior made me think of certain member of Congress from OH.

I completely agree with you, but I think they’re heading for a crescendo/catharsis instead of backing down. It’s my fond hope that enough of them are sobered up by seeing that there are consequences for insurrectionists and even their ruddy-hued manbaby that they will lose interest and channel their idiocy into QAnon raving instead of smashing things and people.

I wonder how that sounds with tinge of Southern drawl?

I think the 60 percent need to step and push back hard. This is utterly unacceptable.

Another attempt at destroying democracy by nullifying an election they didn’t like.

People need to explain this is true fascism in action, not incendiary rhetoric. Expulsion? For what, disagreeing with the Speakers agenda?

This is really really bad. Trump’s legacy, enabling fascism in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

Why is Tennessee embarrassed? isn’t this exactly what the “majority” of voters in that State voted for? Never mind what the voters in Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville voted for, The rubes in the hinterland think they are entitled to rule and force their 18th century ideas on every one else in the country. They are drunk on their temporary power.

There are two groups of Fascists in our Country.
One, are those who know what a Fascist is and like it.
Two, are those who have no idea what a Fascist is but Trump is one so they like it.

No, it is not.
The state legislature—and the federal House of Representatives–have been gerrymandered for years.

That’s why “majority” is in quotes. NC is fast catching up with the gerrymandering, thanks to our so called Legislature, run by some of the dumbest men in North Carolina.
