What would uncle Remus say?

What would uncle Remus say?

And then he said: “Come now, we have big breakfast of melted permafrost.”
It’s not the screwing it’s the paid trips (that she reimbursed in cash is BS). If you grant someone a contract and he takes you to a leisure trip, that is considered a kickback in most organizations. I worked in the software industry for many years and I know it happens a lot, usually there is no consequence, but if something goes wrong with the project that is used as cause for termination.
Willis should have known that she would be under the microscope and avoid getting herself in that situation. That Clarence Thomas and the rest of the Supremos does the same is not an excuse.
Lower SES people use banks differently than the upper and middle classes. (Banks also actively work to drive these people away through their fee policies.) Add minority status (and especially Blacks) and the differences grow larger. That’s very well documented in the sociology literature, and it’s true even of upper-class Blacks. It’s plausible.
ETA: Grammar correction.
I watched part of her testimony yesterday (gotta do SOME work . . .) and today I’m wearing FUSCHIA.
How much more racist and misogynistic can it get than this?
Thanks for posting this.
We have also normalized hush money payments. “What guy hasn’t screwed porn actors behind their wife’s back and then paid her to keep quiet when he runs for President?”. Happens all the time.
There won’t be an autopsy - the body has probably already been burned to save Putin’s face.
What in holy fuck does being a woman have to do with anything? Unless you’re telling us that women are at the mercy of emotions they have no control over. C’mon, there’s simply no way to justify or defend her behavior. She could have fucked literally anyone else on the planet and it wouldn’t have mattered, but she chose the one person that should have been off limits. Her judgement will now forever be suspect.
Thank you for that. I also believe this was reckless, but she did not deserve this. Women understand the dynamics of this better than most men, and evidently txlawyer.
Sing it, sister!
He may have been brave to go against Putin, but he was also a Russian nationalist with some unsavory views as well. That said, he didn’t deserve to be killed in slow motion by Putin.
And my opinion would be identical if their genders were reversed.
I can’t say anything about the specific thresholds you’re citing, but that’s the essence of the conflict of interest here.
Flagged!!!
This is the crux. Everything else is chaff.
Willis is going to come out the other side, focused and ready to earn a conviction.
This bought TSF two weeks. But there’s not a lot more to throw on the tracks-- in hopes of derailing or delaying the train bearing down on him. This sideshitshow? Just more fuel in Willis’ boiler.
The news media probably takes it up because it’s a short and pithy phrase that makes a big impact on eyeballs. Accuracy and precision-who cares? This is the political press we’re talking about, not the Vulcan High Council.
Alexander Smirnov? Comer and Jordan are now going to investigate liquor stores. “It’s got to be in aisle five”.
That’s the entire issue. ![]()
I get that. I also work in the private sector and have worked for a few different companies that really stress ethics, kick backs, influence peddling, etc… But it seems like when we’ve had discussions in the past about ethics in the field of law, what would get us fired in commercial fields doesn’t apply. However, in the case of Fani it does.
And even people like that fuck up. That you and so many others either refuse to admit that Willis’ behavior was objectively stupid or insist that it’s all racism is just tiresome. Every time you make the knee jerk argument that this or that is racist when it’s not, you demean real racist attacks and shed credibility faster than a molting snake.
