Following the abrupt resignation of the U.S. attorney in Atlanta, the Trump administration is bypassing his first assistant, a career prosecutor, to name a new acting leader from outside the office.

Of course he did: where his actual wrong-doing might be investigated, Donnie can’t have someone he doesn’t believe he controls overseeing the responsible law enforcement office.
Bobby has been an Army reservist since the age of 17, both as a Combat Engineer and a Judge Advocate. A Brigadier General in the National Guard, he currently serves as the National Guard Advisor to the Judge Advocate General and Assistant to the Chief Counsel of the National Guard Bureau. He is a veteran of the war in Iraq, where he prosecuted among the war’s first courts-martial, and participated in the investigation of the Abu Ghraib matter. He is a graduate of the master’s degree program at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Bobby’s military awards and citations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star medal, and the parachutist badge. In 2016, Bobby was selected the Army Career Judge Advocate of the Year. His current rank is Brigadier General.
I don’t think that the guy has enough time to wreak too much actual havoc in the next 15 days. Instead, it seems like a message to people who have the audacity to do their jobs when those jobs don’t align with the coup plans.
Does Trump figure because the guy is military that he’ll blindly follow orders from his CiC? You know, skipping that whole Justice department and oath to uphold the constitution bs, right?
New organization of deck chairs on Titanic.
This is what passes for Exec Branch work these daze while vaccinations stall. Where are Jared/Ivanka to bring stability to the ManChild?? (Haberman promised this.)
Whatever Trump’s trying to pull, it won’t work, and will likely backfire. This is almost always the case with him. He’s just too stupid, and mentally lazy, and because of that, along with his massive insecurity and diseased ego, he relies on the advice of people unqualified for the job and all but guaranteed to reinforce his worst ideas and steer him in the wrong direction. He just happens to be president, for the next 16 days and 3 hours. After that, the bell tolls.
I don’t like the current military engagement in his biography, but he was confirmed by voice vote In 2017. The scent of military action is in the air, however. The letter by the 10 living Former Secretaries of Defense, initiated by of all people Cheney is aimed directly at reminding civilians and those in the military responsible for oversight that they are bound by the Constitution, not loyalty to Trump or his party.
Ya gotta wonder what Cheney thinks of his enthusiasm for the imperial presidency now.
