Elements of the judicial branch, including public defender offices, have been caught up in the Trump administration’s headlong rush to terminate thousands of leases of government office space, TPM has learned. Unlike the vast majority of federal workers whose office leases are under review for termination, public defenders are not executive branch employees. They work…

Are these leases being terminated early? Does the GSA have a plan to lease other offices in other buildings for these personnel?

Please for the love of god start fucking with Congresses budget dollars. Maybe when all these jackasses aren’t able to pay their staffs because Treasury decided to stop funding their budgets too they’ll finally get the fucking message.

No, the plan is to shrink the Federal govt to basically defense.

Gotta keep making the oligarchs richer (“rules are for thee, not for me”) -

Are we able to drown the country in a bathtub yet?
Or at least get it into a gas chamber?

Yet the military doesn’t even know how many properties that they lease our own. It would have made sense to start there.

It would be nice if this helped the case get to SCOTUS earlier rather than later.

Perhaps these jackasses are counting on not having Senate or House of Representatives elections in the future either.

I sincerely hope a number of these leases are held by idiots that voted for TMF, who are now not going to get paid as they thought they would.

I hope some of those folk sue over it.

If the judiciary is planning on f-ing the country in aggregate and ending democracy, I’m sure that they don’t give a damn about a few unhappy individuals.

Now that Musk has bought the government for a paltry $250M, I wonder if Roberts is rethinking Citizens United.

Nah, this is probably his desired outcome. Elon can make him and the rest of the miscreants wealthy.

It only cost $100 million if you knew how to do it right (illegally.)

If the Republic survives the next four years it will spend the following eight years reviewing under appeal every single case prosecuted by the DOJ under this Administration.

Either way, it was pocket change. This is why contributions have to be limited.
It is also why the rich have to be heavily taxed.

Tax the rich or you will end up having to eat them.

They are too dirty and greasy for my taste.
So far, their illegal changes are already leaving a bad taste in my mouth

Don’t be so silly. Once these leases are cancelled unilaterally, Musk/Trump will demand that the public defenders stop working from home and return to the office. Anybody refusing to do so will be fired for cause. The more astute have already bought tents they can pitch in court rooms.

Does the GSA have a plan for paying the early termination fees?

I’m starting to despair that Trump voters will ever care about anything - even when it affects them. They don’t know about 90% of this crap, and their stupidity prevents all rational thought. The RW media is simply too fucking powerful.

Yes, they all get paid: 50% to Drump and 50% to Elmo.

ETA: 49% to Drump and 51% to Elmo just to be clear who controlling stockholder is.

They are public defenders. They ensure justice for the poor. Obviously their office is unnecessary. /s
