You know that he’s also asking for ways to actually punish states for testing–an EO, a ban on funding for highways if people access them to get tested, demonstrations outside of facilities that provide testing…

Sadly and absurdly, even if he is trying to lose in November by doing the most outrageous and horrible things, his die-hard supporters will still vote for him.
But they’ll do it none the less, and they’ll be quite proud about it.

As a native Houstonian, I’m really proud of the world class medical center. And Houston as a ‘blue city’ has done a fair job at pushing back.
But this pisses me off. The Texas Children’s Hospital is admitting adults. Cause the regular hospitals are backing up.

Texas Children’s Medical Center here in Dallas has had to turn about half it’s capacity over to adults with COVID.

Perhaps in Wacko, Texas, or East Texas, but not in Dallas. The nice white church going middle class ladies of the Dallas, North of Houston, North of San Antonio, and Austin & Hill Country SUBUARBS/EXURBS have been pulling the R lever for years. They started to not do so in 2018, and spreading disease is going to cause them to permanently swear off the GOP. Some of their dumb-ass husbands in their wife beaters are lost, but women vote.

Texas is actually a lot more Democratic than you describe. The citizens of Dallas, Houston, Austin, and other cities elected Democratic mayors. Suburban women are leaving the GOP in droves.

People have been jailed for life or taken to the gallows for similar crimes. It’s just that we don’t have experience with a chief executive of a liberal democracy doing anything like this. We never thought to make it a crime.

Yeah, it used to be purplish - at the least. Think of Ann Richards. But fucking Tom Delay with his mid census redistricting gerrymandered us into where we are today. Most non - Texans don’t know that.
