The Trump administration is ending funding and support for local COVID-19 testing sites around the country this month, as cases and hospitalizations are skyrocketing in many states.

It’s literally incredible. They’re just walking away, washing their hands of it. Madness. God only knows what sacrifices the states will have to make to step up, given that they have to have balanced budgets. The worst pandemic in a century and the federal government simply says “It’s not our problem. You alone can fix it.”

Someone I know in Florida said there are COVID-19 checkpoints coming into the state on Route 95. What about Florida, Arizona and other hot spots?

Trump wants to present the illusion that the virus is in the rearview mirror. If his gov’t is involved in supporting states, it indicates that it is a present concern. If he just lets the states burn, he can fiddle on the stump and get claps for drinking water. It isn’t going to work, but this is what Trump has been doing for years.
