U.S. District Judge Vernon Broderick sentenced former Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) to 26 months in prison for insider trading on Friday.
And the big board of Trump associates convicted of a crime continues to grow.
Collins, Hunter, Manafort, Gates, Flynn, Papadopoulos, Stone, Van der Zwaan, Cohen.
Parnas and Fruman in the crosshairs currently.
With possibly Nunes, Pompeo, Perry, Barr, Guliani, among others to follow.
And we’re supposed to believe Donald Trump is clean? It’s almost as if Trump has a sixth sense in attracting the morally-bereft.
“I stand here today a disgraced former congressman,” the Republican said during the hearing. “I cannot face my constituents.”
Really? You are a Republican. It is in your DNA to show no shame.
Will Trump pardon Collins? Paperwork is in the mill as we write?
Collins who? That loser?
“I don’t know him.” “Lots of people lick my balls.”
A two year sentence lines up perfectly with a congressional term. I’m just surprised he’s not running from his jail cell. Isn’t that what Republicans do? And don’t their constituents generally vote them in regardless?
I understand there’s not much difference between being in jail and serving in the House in the minority in terms of influence.
Am I reading this wrong? WaPo article states:
Broderick sentenced Collins to 26 months each for two counts: conspiracy to commit securities fraud and making false statements.
26 months each?
Yes, but served concurrently, not consecutively. Pity.
OT. How about the National Archives doctoring the images of the 2017 Women’s March? Lot of Stalinist energy flowing there. Typical of authoritarian regimes. Control, fabricate, and cherry-pick data and information to be released to the public to make the Dictator look good.
If he loses, I think it’ll be a Pardon-fiesta during the lame duck period. These guys just have to ride it out until then.
Pity, indeed. Our injustice system…
OT, but Whoa!!
.
Good grief. Something else to correct next year.
Edited to add that I just read it was an exhibit there. The good thing about that is it can be shown as new examples of propaganda at work in order to educate new generations of Americans.
It could happen here; it has and will again, unless we stay vigilant and informed.
Birds of a feather flock together. What a surprise that the first (Collins) and the second (Hunter) GOP congressmen to come out for Trump in 2016 turn out to be corrupt, self-dealing criminals. But thanks for pointing the way, Collins and Hunter, by resigning! Are you paying attention Donnie?
It’s with a sinking feeling and heavy heart, Trump and his Republican enablers have made me realize how we’re not that different from regimes I have despised. There are, apparently, no laws too big or too small for Trump to run roughshod.
Any information or data coming from the Trump regime should be considered provisional, pending independent verification.
Maybe not. Remember, Trump is a psychopath. Other people exist only to serve his needs or to fawn over him. He’s never shown any genuine concern for another human being.
Why would Trump pardon these losers? What would be in it for him? A chance to “stick it to the libtards,” perhaps, but if he’s not running for office, that doesn’t buy him anything. Given the lingering legal trouble he may be facing post-Presidency, his self-interest would augur for lying low, instead.
Rosenstein was a much bigger bastard than I ever realized at the time. It really makes me wonder to what degree he constrained Mueller, knowing full well, as a company man, Mueller wouldn’t say a thing publicly in opposition.
Rod was a duplicitous little ball of sputum wasn’t he?
