Ex-Rep. Chris Collins Sentenced To Over 2 Years In Prison For Insider Trading

Good point. And when he’s facing indictments and can no longer hide in a White House bedroom, his only focus will be trying to save himself. The rest of the losers are on their own.

Vintage Trump!
People just fight for a place in line to be sold out, or take a fall, by Trump.

I think he pardons them to show others in his orbit he’ll take care of them if they break laws on his behalf.

Remember that incident with Border Patrol about a year or so ago? I think he told the Chief to go ahead and do something (I forget exactly what) and he’d pardon him later.

But if he’s a lame duck, that message won’t have much impact. Once he’s out of office, the pardon power evaporates in a puff of smoke.

Perfect.

Supposedly, he was trying to protect them. Trump and the RWNJ’s then weaponized the texts.

He released the texts to the media at night and instructed the media to not attribute the release to DOJ. Sure thing that he was trying to protect them. Rod Rosenstein was a tool.

Once he’s no longer prez, it won’t matter.
Watch the sycophants scurry like roaches and refuse to return his phone calls.

Flattery will get you nowhere.

He’s more of the caliber of Cactus Jack Garner’s definition of the vice-presidency—not worth a bucket of warm piss.

That’s a good point. If he wins, he probably pardons.

But if he loses, he’s going to be facing any number of indictments on state and federal charges. So what’s his best play then to try to keep his accomplices silent? And without the power of the Presidency. If he doesn’t pardon, they can be called to testify and probably won’t be in the mood to save him. If he does pardon, they have to testify without claiming the fifth, but the worst they can be charged with is perjury or contempt, so maybe that’s a play for him?

It’s almost as if Trump has a sixth sense in attracting the morally-bereft.

It’s what he does. Russian trained.

But, all of his lies are low.

Folks say this as if it’s a given. I guess it’s an expression of optimism. Death will collect him eventually, but the political reality is that he could lose the popular vote by 10% and still be appointed president by the EC. We need to work twice as hard and be twice as good as the GOP just to break even with them.

Probably to be served concurrently rather than consecutively. By separately sentencing him on the two charges, there’s a safety in case for any reason one of the counts is thrown out on appeal.

@ralph_vonholst is everybody’s idea of the pitch-perfect opening act: he has mastered the fine art of paving on-ramps for the rest of us to think outrageously. I just can’t get enough of you, fine sir!

U.S. District Judge Vernon Broderick sentenced former Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) to 26 months in prison for insider trading on Friday.

Another innocent man being punished by the Deep State simply because he is a Republican who knows how to play the market. Sad.

He’s crawling around trying to get his reputation back, without much success, and he won’t succeed. Because he wasn’t all-in, like Barr, so the Maga-crowd won’t claim him. Nor did he show any courage or integrity, so we don’t want him.

Ironically, Comey called him a survivor, but he won’t survive his Trump dealings well, from his perspective. He may get the cushy job, but the reputation and standing with his peers is shattered.

He has lost lots more voters than he has gained.
He’s got the diehards, sure. A growing majority want him out, and 2018 results keep me optimistic. Let’s build on that.
