Even Bill Barr Is Calling Out A Former US Attorney For Sucking Up To Trump | Talking Points Memo

“It took months and a lie-fueled insurrection attempt for the former attorney general to shorten the description to just one word: ‘Bullshit’.”

The whole Trump phenomenon in a nutshell.

It seems as if even some Republicans, and not just the usual suspects, have had enough of the Big Lie.

Yesterday, news broke that the RNC counsel was blasting Trump’s claims of election fraud as clearly false and detrimental to our democracy, as far back as November.

Lin Wood and Kraken lady had the kraken beat out of them yesterday, simply unable to defend their gross negligence (to say the least) in the post-election period.

And today, granted Bill Barr is mostly trying to protect whatever’s left of his shredded reputation, is also denying there was any significant voter fraud. I almost wonder what hypocrite will be exposed tomorrow.

This whole circular firing squad thing ex-Trumpers are engaged in wouldn’t have to be this bad if they believed in gun control.

And has been, you know, so spectacularly successful to date.

"The ALBA-1 undersea fiber-optic link to Venezuela was laid in 2011 and became operational for public users in January 2013.[10] This replaced a system which relied on the Intersputnik satellite system and aging telephone lines connecting with the United States. Total bandwidth between Cuba and the global internet before the cable was just 209 Mbit/s upstream and 379 downstream.[1]

In 2015, the Cuban government opened the first public wi-fi hotspots in 35 public locations. It also reduced prices and increased speeds for internet access at state-run cybercafes.[ citation needed ] As of July 2016 4,334,022 people (38.8% of the total population) were Internet users.[11]"

In other words, they have Internet access and have recently relaxed rules about private computer ownership, so Cubans can get network access (albeit with government monitoring).

It’s true that there is some value in having redundant links, and a shorter path to popular sites in the US, but we’re not actually offering the Cubans “Internet access”…

No… :sunglasses:

No, that was Pompeii at 5%. Republicans like volcanic eruptions. Pompeo wasn’t even a blip on the radar.

…Barr is saying you’re playing politics with false claims about voter fraud…

I don’t want to ruffle ANY conservative feathers — especially the armed ones — but voter fraud was rampant, right Republicans? So… Barr is totally wrong.

Is he part of it, Republicans? Does anyone have control of your Party members?

The biggest problem for the Repubs is that all those Cubans are the wrong color. Once their usefulness as a voting bloc goes away, so will Republican support. At that point, they’ll just be Spanish speaking, brown-skinned immigrants.

She did that already when Tea Partier Joe Miller beat her in a primary. She ran in the general as a write-in and won. Don’t remember what year that was.

It would have been a terrible crime if Mike had died at the hands of the insurrectionists. How would history have been different if he’d been saved in a bloody assault by the Secret Service?

How many more of Trump’s direct attacks on Barr before Barr gives up the pretense that Trump was a good president and unloads on him? (I’m thinking about him making full disclosure of all the illegal things Trump asked him to do.)

I know Barr might also have a lot to lose if all the laundry was hung in public, but I’m not sure that would hold him off if he got really steamed.

Oh look, another proto fascist running for cover, trying to rewrite his own history. Barr should be disbarred, and forced to work in fast food the rest of his worthless life.

It feels like Dems might need to start an investigation into Bill Barr and this guy from Philly. It would be a big problem if Bill Barr politicized the DOJ to push President Trump out of office.

We need this guy, Barr, and Trump in a congressional hearing under oath.

Overall, Barr’s current stance is a good thing, regardless of his particular motive. And this is all the while I have a very low opinion of Barr.

Yeah 2010. But they’ve made the rules more restrictive since then.

So Barr bows and tries to clear his name AND his failing legacy.

NOPE MOFO!

You are toast. Only outcome left is either an apologetic failure or a fool. Neither becomes a legacy beyond the next two years. Sorry, you are just one more fat fool that is lost forever.
