Bill Barr on the Redemption Train?

The Bill Barr Reputation Rehab Tour is on the road. The Mike Pence Reputation Rehab Tour is also warming up its bus.
Soon enough we will be hearing, “Donald Trumpf? Hardly knew him, met him once, briefly, in the hallway.”

Easier to get down a ramp that way.

What is this world coming to? Will wonders never cease? This is the day a pig flew and the fat lady sang. This is one for the books. A chapter has closed. A window has opened. The ground shook, the waves crashed, it was good for me, and now I think I’ll have a cigarette, if you don’t mind. Got a light? Never mind, I’ll just use my candle lighter. It’s a little too big for my current need, but it always gets the job done, that I can tell you.

My thoughts exactly. He is incrementally trying to turn himself in to the savior of the Republic. Not going to work with the Dem majority, small chance of it working with the GOP minority who worship them some orange crazy.

He can get rid of the lifts in his shoes too.

Reminds me of an episode of the Twilight Zone back in the early 60s

Bingo. He was smart enough to get out while the gettin’ was good, but there’s that little matter of all the other crap he pulled as AG.

First para is off to a bad start:

When even former Attorney General Bill Bar is saying you’re playing politics with false claims about voter fraud, you’ve got issues.

It assumes that authoritarians like Barr still care about voter fraud like pro-democracy folks do, but he’s maybe just less sensitive to it, and so “when even Barr says…”, you’ve found a really egregious case. This take is fundamentally confused, and it was irresponsible to publish it.

Precisely because Barr is an authoritarian, who would gladly see representative democracy hollowed-out, the exact opposite conclusion is warranted: the fact that Barr calls these claims false is good reason to suspect that they are true.

We already know Barr did very many things to subvert democracy and throw the election to Trump. He only bailed when he did because that was the last moment when it was safe to do so without facing criminal charges himself; only POTUS could continue undermining democracy further without fear of punishment, thanks to DOJ’s policy that American law does not apply in the Oval Office. The timing of Barr’s departure was not an accident or a coincidence. It was exactly like when an action hero jumps from a speeding vehicle at the last moment: he wasn’t giving up or changing his mind; he lent as much of his own strength to the attack as he could without sacrificing himself.

So, when Barr says this:

“Any suggestion that McSwain was told to stand down from investigating allegations of election fraud is false."

We should suspect that McSwain was told to stand down, and Barr knows it for a fact.

And when Barr helpfully volunteers this cover story:

"[McSwain’s assertions] appeared to have been made to mollify President Trump to gain his support for McSwain’s planned run for governor.”

We should recognize it’s just that: a lie fabricated to hide his crimes.

Stop getting played by these thugs. That means not publishing an article whose first sentence accepts the truth of stories peddled by evil men who have done more to destroy this country than Hitler ever accomplished.

Try this on for size:

“When even this stopped clock says it’s time for dinner, maybe it’s time for dinner.”

See how patently absurd that is? Because the stopped clock is not related to the actual time in the way a clock is supposed to be. So whether it agrees with another clock is irrelevant.

But the case with Barr is even worse. It’s more like this:

“When even this guy whose job is to make sure you’re late for work says it’s time for dinner, maybe it’s time for dinner.”

When the clock is deliberately working at a cross-purpose, it is absurd on its face to evaluate its claim the way it has been presented here.

This would be more fun if these GQPers were in speedos, and covered in mud or jello, wrestling it out in a pit for Trump’s love.

I think he’s in the corner crying that he only got 5% in the CPAC straw poll in Dallas. Well this is according to CNN, I though I saw on MSNB he polled at 1%.

So, Drumpfist ‘loyalty’ still means throwing your partners in crime under the bus as soon as it’s advantageous.
