Esper Won’t Rule Out Reinstating Fired Navy Captain Amid Probe Into Controversial Ouster

Defense Department Mark Esper indicated Friday morning that ex-Navy Captain Brett Crozier could potentially be reinstated after now-former acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly fired him for alerting high-ranking officials of the COVID-19 outbreak on Crozier’s ship.

I think Captain Crozier would make a damn fine Secretary of the Navy.

Or Secretary of Defense.

I would happy to see that happen. He was justified in doing something- about 10% of his crew has tested positive now.

He would have to retire from the Navy first.

By law, the Secretary of the Navy must be a civilian at least five years removed from active military service .

Curse you and your factual information, crushing my dream…

One hopes that President Biden will consider awarding Capt. Crozier a medal. Also, let’s hope the Captain pulls through his bout with Covid-19. (first things first)

Did Esper clear that with the Back-Up IMPeetus?
He might be in the same boat with Capt. Crozier if he is not sycophantic enough!

On the other hand…Esper could just be burnishing his rep if he senses he is on the way out…
Who knows with these Trumpian Sycophants!

Our next Aircraft Carrier should be named after Crozier, to acknowledge his actions. The ship’s namesake, Theodore Roosevelt did almost the same thing as Crozier, in order to get medical help to his soldiers.

Does one person in this maladministration know what the hell they’re doing? Backwards, forward, round in circles.
The only reason this Captain was fired was that it was publicly announced there were more cases of Covid and the idiot in chief was trying to keep it all a secret. There could be no more horrible, incompetent person as POTUS as this POS.

Capt. Crozier is not an ex-Navy Captain! He was removed from Command, but still holds his rank and associated privileges. The odds of him being returned to Command of the Teddy is slim to none given that the Chain of Command (from the CARGRU up) would lose face. And you can bet that that will be part of sweeping this all under the carpet. He might get another minor command, but his promotion to Flag rank would be seriously in doubt no matter what happens.

I wonder how many Trump sucks could have kept this boat afloat and 5,000 seamen ready to protect our Country.
Trump and his sucks are trying to control something they know nothing about.
Morale of highly trained techs with highly sophisticated equipment, far above Trump’s caveman mentality, and the rest of the crew who keep things running is one of the many jobs a Captain must deal with 24/7.
People who can run at this high of level are the enemies of Trump an his believers.

Esper reminds me of a cat trying to cover shit on a marble floor.

This administration is competent, if that’s the word, at smash and grab looting. Everything else is sheer chaos.

Prediction: Crozier will get his job back if, and only if, he issues a public apology for going outside the COC.

Prediction 2: He won’t do it.

The only reason (In my opinion) Esper is speaking about this publicly is; Trump wants this fiasco to go away. Reinstating Captain Crozier- (Trump hopes) will make HIMSELF look good.

I have no doubt, a few of the pragmatic Trump-whisperers have told him that doing so will help clean up his ratings:
It’s not a good look to pardon a war criminal but fire a Navy Captain INFECTED with COVID-10.

Heh, Donnie Death’s numbers are now 50.5% disapprove and 44.5% approve at 538. It’s been inching down since last week. Dems, the media and the rest of us have to ramp up the attacks on his horrifically bad handling of the pandemic, which has been monumentally inept at best and deliberately malicious and opportunistic at worst, to get as many Americans as possible to see him for the vile monster that he is and turn on him. I’d like to see him at over 60% disapproval and 35% approval by summer.

Maybe Joe Biden will do just that.

Post Trump, is it possible to appoint him as (permanent) “acting” secretary?
