He’s a contemptible lout and will soon be a convicted criminal. But the voters in his district are in love with his rhetoric. He will portray the lack of endorsement by the local GOP as a badge of honor.

“The San Diego Republican Party declined to endorse indicted Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA)…”

Another heroic act in the GOP’s principled stand against those who benefit from their father’s name.

(Weird, though, how it seems to be limited to ones named “Hunter”.)

Federal prosecutors hit Hunter with a criminal indictment in August 2018 for allegedly dipping into $250,000 in campaign donations for personal use, including extramarital affairs with five women.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Given that the bar for proper GOP crimes has been risen to treason via collusion with foreign governments, shouldn’t Duncan be like getting an award for only scarfing funds to get a little extra on the side?

I really don’t know why the local San Diego Republican Party won’t endorse him. He looks to be very Trumpian.

I certainly hope he’ll lose, especially to a Dem, but it’s really no big deal to lose the Party’s endorsement. DiFi didn’t get it last year but still won handily.

She might have to do that again in 2022. She’s now polling like a Dem.

Poor Duncan Hunter just cannot get a break. Meanwhile, the GOP continues to scrape the bottom of the barrel with that low life form named Darrell Issa.

C’mon … there HAVE to be better Republicans in California than Hunter and Nunes. Honestly.

I just did a quick check and found this article in independent local Times of San Diego that claims a new poll shows Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar is currently leading in the 50th district congressional race. If accurate that would be a HUGE shift…Hunter won the last election despite his pending trial being public knowledge.

Fingers crossed…:slightly_smiling_face:
