As the winner of Nevada’s Senate election came into focus this weekend — and with it, the reality that Democrats would retain the upper chamber for two more years — a winner was also projected in another key race: That for Nevada’s secretary of state.
“Hand counting”? In the 21st century?? Have these people never seen an actual ballot??
In New Mexico’s election last week, the ballot was printed on the longest available paper, on both sides. There were the races, federal, state, county, and judicial. There were judicial retention decisions, state bonds, county bonds, arroyo & flood control bonds. Also constitutional amendments and county charter amendments. Did I leave anything out?
edited: Yes, I left out the districted race for the state House.
Yeah, count each of these “by hand.” And hope you’re done before the next election.
Finchem is a complete nut job who is a legend in his own mind. I was very worried because his Dem opponent had pretty low name recognition, but Finchem proved just too crazy for anyone who bothered to listen.
Feels like we just narrowly missed taking a real bullet here in AZ - and it feels good.
