Patrick, after his world wind Media Tour with his message of sacrificing for the economy, had better show up in person.

Yet they want to open schools, consequences be damned,

Chickenshit. Every one of them.

It’s just going to be a grotesque ‘reality show’ for the self-aggrandizement of Donnie so WTF is the point of it anyway?

When Dan Patrick said you old people should go ahead and die he didn’t include himself, obviously. He’s a one-man death panel who gives his own self a get-out-of-the-morgue card. Dan Patrick, the talk show host who still knows how to get attention for his god-damn cowardly loudmouth self.

That hypocrite Tx Lt Gov…
How dare he NOT attend in person when he said it was okay to KAG = Kill American Geriatrics for Wallstreet!

So has the Tx Lt Gov Dan Patrick taken Dr Fauci’s advice after all or is he just a “snowflake” after all?

Addendum:

Meanwhile in Ohio, another wanna-be DeSantis or an aspiring Mini-Trump Germ-Over-People Party member demands that Americans should stop getting tested for Covid despite rising Covid cases…

Well, I’m sure he’s determined that his own personal death wouldn’t help the economy as much as the right and necessary death of other people who’ve grown old and useless.

US flags as snot rags? I still find face masks with images of the US flag kind of creepy.

And to hell with what the health experts say.

It’s becoming painfully obvious that elected GOP officials are just cowards… unwilling to risk their lives for their leader.

So…what is the point of making all the worker bees tempt fate? You’d think this might make at least some of their party ponder if their lives are really valued.

I would never begrudge someone the opportunity to save their own skin, but what about the rest of these poor schlubs? Of course our politics and our culture have deteriorated to an unbearable place, but don’t their lives mean anything to the puppeteers?

I see a guy like Abbott and I get it - he looks and sounds like a politician. His policies are bilious, but I get it.

I see a guy like Dan Patrick, and I think “what the hell is a Lieutenant Governor? What is the purpose of this office? Is being a complete troglodyte a strength in this office?” Concluding his voluntary death tour by opting out of actually exposing himself to anything is pitch perfect for the Texas GOP.

All those folks screaming about burning the American flag and wanting to imprison people for doing so think it’s fine to go around with the flag on their butts or stretched across their overstuffed stomachs. Now that’s really disrespectful! And pretty hard to see. :flushed::woozy_face::nauseated_face:

Language matters. In a recent paper on industrial policy in the time of covid, Reda Cherif and Fuad Hasanov note that “flattening the curve” with periodic shutdowns and reopening may not be as desirable as “squashing the curve”.

Instead of “flattening the curve”, an alternative strategy consists in “squashing the curve” by imposing stringent measures such as lockdowns and business and school closures. By bringing R0 substantially below one, the number of infected would dwindle rapidly while sparing most of the population from the infection.

Finland, New Zealand, Norway, have used this strategy to good effect. Few dead and no government shitshow like in the US at present. Have we once heard and American politician talk about squashing the curve?

Apparently the Texas Lt Gov has legislative and administrative powers greater than the Gov?
It’s Texas.
The Texas governor’s primary function is to sign execution orders and kiss babies.

This is axiomatic.

The GOP politician CARES ABOUT HIS FUCKING JOB, WITH ALL THE PERKS ATTACHED TO IT. He is the weakest link in the chain. We just are lazy in attacking them. They support killing people. They WILL not put themselves in danger because they crave their FUCKING JOB.

I would hound that fucking Moscow McConnell to the Ends of the Earth. He would not get a minute’s sleep until Nov, 2020. He is 100% responsible for every death Trump has caused and history will say so.
