Echoing Trump, GA Speaker Despairs That High Turnout Helps Dems

Georgia House Speaker David Ralston (R) said the quiet part out loud Wednesday, bashing the secretary of state’s move to mail out absentee ballot applications to the state’s registered voters because the higher voter participation “will be extremely devastating to Republicans and conservatives in Georgia.”

Again, words you weren’t supposed to say out loud.

At any rate, GOP voter suppression already speaks louder than words.

Greed-Over-People Party and Mythomaniac Trump can tell the truth…on certain occasions - when pigs fly and when their re-election is threatened!

“With any luck,” he added, “Congress will finally kill off the Postal Service before the voting and we can set up a couple of collection boxes, um, somewhere … maybe Yatesville.”

It’s a damn shame Republicans can not exist in a democracy.
No great loss.

“The things they had in there were crazy,” Trump said on “Fox and Friends.” “They had things — levels of voting that, if you ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”

Georgia House Speaker David Ralston ® said
“Every registered voter is going to get one of these,” he added .
“This will certainly drive up turnout.”… the higher voter participation …
“will be extremely devastating to Republicans and conservatives in Georgia.”

OH HELL - you have come this far
-why don’t you just come right out and say …

you don’t believe in:

  • one person one voter
  • equality of voting rights
  • democracy

The truth will set you free Mr Speaker and therefore put you out of a job.

I am ashamed that Ralston and others just as dumb make public policy for my state. Gasbags like Ralston will always ignore ethical and legal breaches as long as they are the beneficiaries.

As many have heard me say: I try to light a candle rather than curse the darkness. One of the giant aspects of this deadly disease is that it can (and likely will) reshape governments and economies. For Georgia to adopt a mail-in balloting system in order to avoid large numbers of voters dying, we may stand a chance of seeing Ralston and his ilk losing power.

JFC they must really be scared if they’re saying the quiet part out loud. Republicans have been finagling who can vote longer than they’ve been trying to stop abortion. They presented their cases in State Houses, and before courts for decades, and just think a virus has scared them into blurting out the truth.

Obligatory

If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.

The Trump administration has reversed a policy it announced only two days ago.

This is in keeping with most decisions made by trump. Watch for a switch back in a few more days.

If every election were contested on the issues, and only the issues, Republicans would not stand a chance in hell of winning.

…HIGH TURN OUTS HELP DEMS.

So, I guess most of the states won’t be voting by mail in November, no matter what is happening with the Coronavirus.

Yes, he real coronavirus tragedy is that people may finally be granted their constitutional right to vote. For Rethugs, that is to be avoided at all costs.

BTW Gov. Brian Kemp ® just learned in the last 24 hours that Coronavirus was contagious by asymptomatic patients… obviously, election stealing skills don’t translate well to public health.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19-obsessed MSM will not even say a peep about this story, just like they didn’t even mention it when Trump said it out loud.

So, nobody but the web-denizens will ever hear about it.

So now the Republican Party has flat out rejected the idea of putting forth a platform of ideas that will gain the support of the majority of the population - nope - they have said “screw that”

They now focus on cobbling together a bunch of crap that excites an angry hateful focused minority - and cruelly abuses other minority groups … and then obstructing and trampling on the right to vote of all others - in an effort to see to it that only the votes that support their diabolic racist elitist plans get counted .

that is perverse - and criminal - and tyrannical

… and arguably treasonous
