Trumpster: Come for the conspiracy, stay for the letdown.
Putinist: Come for washing machine, stay for the dryer.
There was never any ‘there’ there with this.
Durham should have to re-pay every dime that was spent on this ridiculous prosecution. There wasn’t even a ham sandwich involved, for Pete’s sake.
This report, when and if it’s ever issued, should end up in the Fiction section of the reading universe and be relegated to remainder tables around the world.
Durham’s mission was to conduct an investigation to put forth the notion that one was merited. It’s improbable a man with the credentials Durham had that he believed there was a real mission for him. The investigation was a sophisticated ( but doomed to fail ) exercise in projection. It was to make Trump a victim. It ended up a bust because there was nothing there. That’s why Durham failed to find anything and the fact that it took him 3 and 1/2 years to get to that point when he must have known 1 month into it what a farce it was tells us all we need to know. It was theater. A performance for the right wing media and Trump’s base. Keep em happy. Own the libs.
After what Benghazi and “her emails” showed us you have to want to believe this type of shit even though you know it’s bull.
Back during WWII, Russian soldiers looted toilets, thinking they were potato washing machines.
He’ll pay but not in bucks. This is a career ender for him. His colleagues know what he was up to. All of us do. His reputation will be tarnished and this farce of a bust is what he will go down in history for. He KNOWS that hence the desperate and despicable attempts by him to nail anyone…deserving or not…to give this joke credibility.
Truth is Putin and Trump are one and the same which had to be buried from the public.
Ken Starr had a career up to his death.
He believed his own bullshit.
It’s that simple.
Same thing will happen with all these election deniers.
Ah, but Ken Starr had a modicum of success. He got the R’s their impeachment of Bill.
Durham got squat. After he had promised the moon and the Starrs.
Prosecution for strictly political reasons is a telltale sign of authoritarian governance.
If Democrats hold the House, they should investigate and attempt to up more guardrails.
A professorship at Pepperdine Christian Law School is a liminal state very close to death.
Whatever ‘credentials’ Mr. Durham had, they left him willing to threaten harm to, and attempt to jail, innocent people in an attempt to exonerate a man Bob Mueller had found was likely guilty (of obstruction of justice, at the least.)
Durham was not acting as an investigating attorney: he was acting as an apparatchik working to launder his party’s reputation and indemnify its perceived enemies at the nation’s expense.
Bill Barr is guilty of the same offense against the nation.
Much digital ink has been spilled on legal Twitter over the last few days on the Danchenko trial… most of it incomprehensible. This is a real example of ‘faux news’. In October 2020, a month before the election, Barr made Durham a special prosecutor so that it would be very difficult for Biden to remove him. So Biden just ignored him, and so should everyone else.
Durham is done. End of story. Moving on.
“While we are disappointed in the outcome, we respect the jury’s decision and thank them for their service,” he said.
See, was that so hard?
"… and will restore confidence in our public institutions,” Trump said
It does.
There was no fraud. Trump lost.
He knew all along
Delivering right to the end.

Now the good news. Goodbye Trussonomics!
Apparently, Durham issued exactly the same statement when Sussman was found innocent.
(Acknowledgements to @emptywheel.)
That was decoration on a done deal within the House.
What happened? There’s no there, there! That’s what happened.
