McConnell is currently engaged in beefs with corporations, Trump, and the Republican base. I never thought I’d see the day where there was a sliver of daylight between McConnell and corporations, and it’s only a sliver, but it’s still something. Meanwhile, most polls show heavy support, even among Republicans, for Biden’s proposals. If it weren’t for Manchin and Sinema, he’d be in a huge jam right now.

Say what you want about Mitch McConnell (and there’s a lot to be said) but dumb ain’t one of them. I will agree about the son of a bitch part, though. So at least we can find some common ground.
For some reason I don’t think that this year or next year are going to be kind to The Former Guy, as his legal and financial issues pile and as he sinks further into obscurity. He will increasingly lash out at those he has perceived as being not sufficiently loyal. We will look back at events like this and they will look tame by comparison.
