Pretti later told the source that five agents tackled him and one leaned on his back – an encounter that left him with a broken rib. The agents quickly released him at the scene.

Just incredible. There’s no way that broken rib he sustained at the hands of rogue ICE agents had healed by the time he was out there helping people a mere week later. Even braver and more compassion than I’d previously thought, and I had already thought he was a hero.

They nab a family member, trick someone to open the door and ship the whole family away. It’s being called a “conveyor belt of illegally detained children”.
Clark said the entire family was put on a flight to Texas within a few hours despite a federal judge ruling that the family be kept in Minnesota.
According to Clark and several other lawyers MPR News spoke to, what’s happened to these children and their families is part of a “conveyor belt” strategy that is illegally detaining immigrants in Minnesota en masse and moving them out of state beyond the reach of legal counsel.

The editors of The Nation magazine are in the process of formally nominating the city of Minneapolis and its people for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The following nomination statement, which is addressed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the five-member body that is charged by the Parliament of Norway with selecting the recipient of the Peace Prize, has been prepared for submission on Friday.

Slovakia’s prime minister told EU leaders at a summit last week that a meeting with Donald Trump left him shocked by the U.S. president’s state of mind, five European diplomats briefed on the conversation said.
Robert Fico, one of the few EU leaders to frequently support Trump’s stance on Europe’s weaknesses, was concerned about the U.S. president’s “psychological state,” two of the diplomats said. Fico used the word “dangerous” to describe how the U.S. president came across during their face-to-face meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Jan. 17, according to two of the diplomats.

Oh. I have to say that I don’t think that the Italian Foreign Minister should have tried to downplay ICE by mentioning the SS. 1) It is like that, and 2) Mentioning it serves to highlight that fact.

Nah, it’s more like the Geheime Staatspolizei are coming. DHS is sending an intel unit to sit in the Milan Consulate and act as a liason between the State Department and the local authorities.
But that doesn’t mean that the Italians should let the bastards in.
