Reform the Police.

Minneapolis last week. Louisville this week.

I don’t miss Trump’s DOJ at all.

It is not out of the question that this is a trickle that will become a torrent.

I agree. The Biden DOJ is tailor made for blusterers. City, State, Federal.

Still Waters.

Two down, thousands to go…though, some agencies have already taken on reform themselves, or had it imposed by their city/county/state. It’s good to see the feds back in the oversight game, and it’s critical that continues until policing nationwide has been reformed to serve and protect (finally). The threat of a Republican administration allowing the police to run wild again is really something we all should fear.

De-militarizing the police nationwide should be a top priority at every governmental level.

It makes me very happy to see that Mitch McConnell inadvertently helped demilitarize the po-pos by blocking President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.

The careful, methodical and slow manner of the various Investigations which are now underway will make the actual charges corrupt Trumpsters will face seem as nothing to the offenders…

…right now, anyways…

Is DOJ going to look into the handling of that shooting by Kyle? Seems like it might be interesting to hear why armed vigilantes were allowed to come from out of state on to the streets of that city that night…

The frigging motorcycle officers in Tucson have taken to carrying AR-15 carbines on their bikes.
WTF!?!?

How many incidents have there been of motorists shooting MC cops with semi-auto rifles? Further, if that were to happen, how the hell are they going to get back to their bike to get their rifle.

Useless militarism. Just makes them feel manly or some shit.

The article mentions that the police oversight process is “labor intensive” so that could slow things down.
But hey. It’s a shovel ready job creation program with plenty of shit that needs shoveling.

Why did it take so long to charge Ahmaud Arbery’s killer(s)?

It’s safe to say Sessions and Barr set fairness and justice on the streets and courtrooms of America back by decades. Hopefully all those perpetrators of injustice who thought (correctly) they had a DoJ that had their backs for four years, will now themselves face a measure of justice. Or, rather, I should say accountability. It’s too late for justice in far too many cases.

Bull Connor was an idol for Sessions.

While also demilitarizing the segment of the population that has militarized itself

ETA: And de-rightwing-extremist-izing the ranks of law enforcement and the military.

This country is awash in racism, guns, and covid. Not to mention ignorance, disinformation, selfishness, greed, and sheer meanness. Thanks, GQP.

The NC body cam footage—all of 20 seconds of it-–has been shown to the Brown family.
They’re not satisfied.
Nor should they be.
