I can save them a bunch of time and money…

The official findings will be that there were no violations of DOJ policies.

Countdown to the DOJ IG’s removal: ten, nine, eight. . .
Followed by the DHS IG, of course.

He’ll make a nice report. Barr will say it’s classified and hide it away. Then the IG will be fired because it’s a Friday.
Business a usual for this administration.

I guess we know which IG is getting fired next. Please work fast, but thoroughly in the time you have left.

OT:

Hopefully Stephen Miller’s uncle beats the absolute shit out of him.

““The review will include examining the training and instruction that was provided to the DOJ law enforcement personnel; compliance with applicable identification requirements, rules of engagement, and legal authorities…”

”DOJ later issued a blanket denial of any wrongdoing, through spokesman Reinhard Heydrich.”

I’d guess the fate of this report and, to some extent its tone, will depend on the outcome of the upcoming election.
I have no anticipation of it being finished in hurry: a whitewash offers too much possibility of doing long term damage to Horowitz’ career arc.

This playacting at being a democracy and upholding rule of law is positively adorable.

You presume we will ever see the results of the investigation. Barr will be running hard drives through high powered magnets and have the paper shredders working non-stop post Nov election.

Just in case there was any interest in a well qualified “expert witness” on what the fundamental principles of the Homeland Security initiatives were originally intended to serve …

ALSO NOTE : Tom Ridge Says He’d Likely Resign Before Letting Federal Agents Into American Cities

Don’t agree with everything that Tom Ridge supported - but If I had to go away for a month and have him watch my kids - (if they were 15 years younger than they are now) - yeah I could live with that … Absolutely could not say the same for Trump, Pence, or virtually anyone in this administration

  • this is all related to trust, decency, integrity, and humanity …and respect.

The investigations are good, though it’s unlikely they will produce a report before the election…the next news about this will be the firing of the IGs and investigators.

Interestingly, it has been traditional that the entire DoJ and other government agencies that investigate things stop reporting on any investigations that may affect the election about two months before the election is held. That means that, in theory, we shouldn’t hear anything about any of these things, in any way, after the first week of September. Obviously, Comey broke that tradition in 2016 with his alert about “reopening” the Clinton investigation…that showed the reason why you don’t make announcements like that.

I suspect that we won’t hear about any real investigations, like this one, they will all be forced to keep things closed until Nov 4th, but I also suspect we will hear at least one “investigation” or “report” about Biden, in an attempt by Trump people to create a controversy and sink his election chances. I don’t know if there is any way to prepare or stop it from happening…we will just have to wait and see. It’s really going to be a nasty election season.

Just as a mental exercise, a few deep-knee bends for the imagination, I can say I heard yesterday there was a noticeable bit of dismay in certain quarters of the DHS over this. And maybe there’s a contingent that wants to be seen as having tried at least to clean house a little when the new bosses show up and people like Kamala are grilling you about what you did and did not do when all this stuff was happening.

That’s a certainty. Ron Johnson’s all over that.

That’s really the difference now…in the GWB administration you could vehemently disagree with their policies, think they did bad things, but people like Bush and Ridge obviously took their duty to the American people seriously and were trying to do right (in their view). The people like Cheney or Scooter you knew were sketchy, but there were adults around that seemed trustworthy and unwilling to contribute to destroying America.

Now, the majority of Republicans in Congress and the Trump appointees (including judges) seem hell bent on remaking America into a dictatorship with them in control, and making money off of their side deals along the way. It feels vastly different…and it’s why the Republican party really needs to lose badly so it gets reorganized or destroyed. The current iteration just is a cancer on our society, there’s no other way to look at it now.
