DOJ Attorneys: Trump’s Mob Intended To ‘Capture And Assassinate’ Elected Officials | Talking Points Memo

When Nancy announced she had hired Ret. Lt. General Honore’ to lead the investigation I literally shouted my approval.

Woke up the cats, the dogs AND my family.

HE is somebody with awesome trustworthiness.

Sigh. I have this argument with junior engineers all the time. The purpose of college is not to train you to do your first job, it’s to prepare you for your whole life, including your responsibilities as a citizen.

engineers (full disclosure, I am not one) absolutely rely on the skills taught in humanities classes in order to be good engineers: (1) listen to a verbal presentation, extract important information, and organize it, (2) extract important information from multiple sources, organize the information and present it clearly (3) Combine multiple lines of evidence to draw conclusions, write up your conclusions clearly and show how they are supported by evidence.

Or as we refer to them in industry jargon: meet with the client, write proposals, and deliver the project.

Let me see if I get this: Angeli (?) has a lawyer who wants a pardon.

EVERYBODY who entered that building was breaking the law, committing a felony. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE can be charged with Officer Sicknick’s death. THOSE are not federal charges, murder can be a city of DC ‘charge’ and every one of these people should have a fun visit to CITY lock-up in DC for the duration of their court cases.

No bail. Let him learn to love ‘unorganic’ food. It’s not a medically necessary diet.

The note he left on Pence’s desk was a THREAT.

AND if he is telling the truth about the CapCop escort…they are also up on murder charges. Burn all these ‘treasonous’ ‘traitorous’ ‘seditious’ assholes.

No, he threw the CAPCOPS under the bus. THEY are as liable as HE IS for the death of Ofc Sicknick.

Maybe they can be his security in the pokey? EVEN if Trump pardons them (what’s he gonna say everybody who was THERE? can he give a ‘persons and persons unknown’ pardon?) the DC legal system OWNS their asses.

Nope. That’s a misdemeanor.

Nope. Felony murder is predicated on a short list of other crimes, and unlawful entry or rioting are not among them. Murder and kidnapping do qualify, but you have to prove that the person either did the murder (of the cop), or intended to murder or kidnap someone within the capitol.

THOSE are not federal charges, murder can be a city of DC ‘charge’ and every one of these people should have a fun visit to CITY lock-up in DC for the duration of their court cases.

Felonies in DC are effectively federal charges, and are prosecuted by the feds. Where they get locked up doesn’t matter much, but they can be pardoned by the president.

And why might YOU think he meant you?

Acting DC US Attorney Michael Sherwin says otherwise, “no direct evidence of kill or capture teams”. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/01/15/capitol-rioters-accused-aim-capture-and-assassinate-officials/4174807001/

Nobody tell the magistrate judge in Phoenix.

Next time, Good Guys, just shoot the demented, evil motherfuckers where they stand, mmm-kay?

Never again. Next time, meet them immediately using deadly force with extreme prejudice.

That man SURE had a way with words! I was alive in the '60s (and politically cognizant) and I remember the unbelievable shock of his death.

The Metropolitan PD officer who was discussing how he was beaten when HE got on the scene: he feared if he drew his gun and shot he would start a bloodbath because there were more of ‘them’ than there were of ‘us.’

I took APPRECIATION OF OPERA in my Freshman year (my only elective); got to see Don Giovanni at the Chicago Metropolitan Opera.

These little things that in most senses are not USEFUL are actually what makes us as people.
Smelling the posies as it were.

Maybe twice, I’ve had students ask me what I found most useful in the work world. I told them to know how to write and write persuasively and with facts. The model they teach in high school is OK for a start, but it does not make you a good writer. Then, be able to talk to groups in a way that will be persuasive and lucid. It may not make you CEO, but will make you noticed.

They have regular courts in DC for murder cases. For attacking the cops. The feds don’t get to just say we’ll let the murder of Officer Sicknick go. Oh, ‘never mind.’

He tried to make us a banana republic. He’s lucky he failed. In a real banana republic a deposed ‘strongman’ faces a bleak, though short, future.

Yes, they do. But the prosecution is done by federal prosecutors. I didn’t say they would let Sicknick’s killers go, far from it. But they are eligible for a presidential pardon (I don’t think it will happen, but the possibility is there).

And then run out of bullets because you’re only carrying 2 extra magazines and get torn apart by the thousands of angry rioters who now feel justified in killing you!
