And trump’s picture is necessary to inform some of that fact because a full complement of trump-porn is always appropriate.
Amirite?
What else is going on in Washington?

Trump’s lawyers cited right-wing outlets that traffic in conspiracy theories and claimed that Democrats had also used the kind of rhetoric that Trump employed in the lead-up to the riot.
Democrats were urging extreme leftist groups to rise up and violently nullfy the election? I seem to have missed that somehow…
Sometimes it makes sense to say that two things just don’t go with each other. In this case, however, the two things are like pie and ice cream.
Knowing that the Republicans will acquit, I think the House Managers should put their shoulders into making the moral case against what happened, the moral case against the Republican Party for their collusion with all four years of the Trump Maladministration, and force Trump’s lawyers to make the most transparently buffoonish and tragically mistaken and resoundingly wrong defense possible.
I hope the prosecutors do not spend even a single moment taking the defense’s arguments seriously, let alone try to rebut them. Do not argue process. Do not fall down rabbit holes. Do not chase shiny objects. Do not debate whataboutism. Do not defend racial justice protests. Just prosecute the case.
It truly is absurd to think that Trump was going to, as he said from the dais, join the rioters occupying the Capitol, given that he could barely totter from the stage back to the White House. So yeah, they have a point.
I’ve had a Prime membership here for years because I want a left wing perspective on news. So when I get multiple stories on the former president it’s annoying and it’s not what I signed up for. You too can sign up for Prime any time you want to show your support for what they crank out.
That timeline alone demonstrated “conclusively” that Trump did not inspire the riots, the lawyers wrote, ignoring video— cited in the House impeachment managers’ brief last week — showing the crowd responding enthusiastically and aggressively to Trump’s remarks.
Is this supposed to be a “if the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit” sort of defense? ‘Cause this guy’s no Johnny Cochran.
…but the QMorons say Trump is STILL President…and he’s executing his enemies on the lawn of the White House!
I’m upvoting your comment based on the way you’re leveraging your time in the trenches, first-hand experience, contributing to group meetings.
Trump’s lawyers argued…
In 2016, many republicans claimed they liked the “tells it like it is”. Then proceeded to translate what he meant with every statement he made over the next 4 years. Did he actually say cancel Fox? I am not sure, but he promoted the other RW networks for quite a few months. If he didn’t actually say the words, how does Fox explain what happened to the most watched cable news ratings. He spent 5 years turning people into trump whisperers. There are numerous examples besides Fox.
This supports my suggestion that people contact Josh to let him know they believe there’s been too much coverage of Trump. If enough people do it I bet things would change. From what I can tell, he’s sensitive to reader responses.
The professor acknowledged that his article “set out all the evidence I found on both sides–lots for them to use.” T**'s defense attorneys will say they, like the professor, considered the arguments on both sides and simply reached the opposite conclusion.
The only thing I dispute is the sequence of events. If anyone thinks they considered the arguments and THEN reached their conclusion, then I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn going cheap.
Let’s see, the distance from the WH to the Capitol proves that Trump was not responsible for the riot at the Capitol, but the distance from the WH to Benghazi proves that Hillary Clinton was responsible for the riot in Libya. Got it!
No one wants to see his vulgar, ugly mug, that is for sure. But his Impeachment trial is in fact the story of the day (unless you are a huge John Fetterman fan, which I am). And in fairness, TPM almost always runs a photo with their articles.
How often does TPM run an article without a photo? Not that I disagree with you…the mere sight of him is revolting to me.
A federal judge in Seattle on Monday decided that a Proud Boys leader on the West Coast, Ethan Nordean, should be released pending trial, even after federal prosecutors warned he could coordinate with the Proud Boys for another attack on the federal...
“While you are out, you must maintain good conduct,” Magistrate Judge Brian Tsuchida said on Monday.
Criminals and traitors are now on the honor system?
We have to be living in a simulation because everything now seems like satire.
I think what is going on is that judges right now are predisposed to let people out on bail pretrial because of COVID in jails.
This, along with the decision to serve “organic” food to the Shaman and allow another insurrectionist to go on vacay to Mexico, are the very definition of white privilege.
