This is how the tea party was born. A few loud voices got lots of sensationalist coverage thus increasing their relevance.

When I heard militia types and KKKers talk about preparing for the coming race war, I always assumed they were preparing to defend themselves. Now I believe they are intending to start it.

When the white man kept the black man as a slave, denied him education and the right to vote, he wasn’t exactly setting up the black man to be a scientist or inventor or political leader, etc. So, No, the black man doesn’t owe thanks to the white man (and there are plenty of contributions from black culture to acknowledge)

The Right understands how to feed the media the controversy it depends on. Democrats feel they’re above it.

The CSpan host was a bit surprised at the blatant racism that has been mainstreamed into our public discourse.

I think in a perverted way this is good. It exposes this narrative to the light of day.

It’s freaking irratation to me that folks don’t get this. Chuck Todd covers the tea party demonstrations non-stop giving them the political platform they desire.

Meanwhile the left is flailing in their attempts to remain relevant.

Seems to me that ‘reporting’ on random C-SPAN caller is just as silly as the “look at the crazy things people said on Twitter”. TPM can do better.

This guy must be at least a hundred years old if he was discriminated against because he’s Irish. Anti-Irish discrimination pretty much disappeared by the beginning of the 20th Century. (BTW: The youtube

I believe it was the Murrieta mayor in a wink, wink manner who encouraged the protesters to come out then denied he’d done so. I don’t who Ingram is but if you mean L. Ingraham, as vile as she is, what’s she got to do with the C-span ranters?

The accepted wisdom of the 1964 Mississippi Summer of Freedom protests gives way too much credit to the Eastern whites who showed up. While they were sincere and fearless, and whose own lives were also put in peril, their usefulness was in showing and encouraging the blacks how they could grab the reins and create a movement demanding voting rights. This kind of ranting about “white oppression” is paranoia of the highest order, mostly kept in check over the years but unleashed since The Black Man took up residence.

Maybe you’re right. I think you could hear these sorts of rants most any day on CSPAN call-in programs.

At Think Progress there is reporting on the dozen-plus tweets sent out out by a Sirius DJ about his encounter with a black woman. So ugly, so over the top, so aggressive, he’s so fired.
