So, a person with an actual medical degree thinks that schizophrenia means ‘split personality’ apparently. Someone once said that Ben Carson is the worlds first idiot savant brain surgeon. Sounds about right.

Remarkable isn’t it? He had gifted hands, but so does a welder or finish carpenter. He repeatedly demonstrates that being good with a scalpel doesn’t mean you understand the functions of the thing you are cutting.

If anyone would know schizophrenia…

Who better to diagnose generic schizophrenia than a retired neurosurgeon with early-stage dementia?

As a respected physician and thus a scientist, I would expect Carson to base his judgements on a certain degree of empiricism, that is, a basis in reality. What is clear from Carson’s increasingly bizarre opinions that seem more and more distant from the real world is that the good doctor is bat-shit crazy!

Actually this was one of Dr Ben’s less bat turd crazy comments. Compare this one to his adamant belief that the pyramids in Egypt were built for grain storage.

Or… Or, they could live in their own imaginary mental construct of the United States, in which the Constitution was based on the divine revealed truth of the One God (okay, ‘Allah’). Separation of church and state and other unacceptable legal doctrines would become liberal lies; Thomas Jefferson would be revered as a man of deep faith, kneeling in prayer alongside George Washington in the snows of Valley Forge - I mean, the man had his own copy of the Qur’an! They would be the true, patriotic Americans - arrogant, secular elites would become the sworn foes of all that our founding fathers represented - and they could pursue their project of imposing a religious law code on the United States in the serene belief that this, and not some imported, enlightenment philosophy, represented the truest, deepest currents of American history, of all its fondest hopes and brightest dreams.
