I may need help on this. I was not familiar with Carson prior to this Presidential Election Cycle. As I vaguely understand it, Carson has possessed quite a following among evangelicals. Further, he has spoken to various groups of people in evangelical settings. His (to them) calm and steady manner and apparent sincerely make them like him.

And that’s that.

The ins and outs, the foreign policy chops, the amassing of knowledge of how government works. Economic policy. Domestic policy…all of these things pale beside the fact that “he is liked”.
