Discussion for article #245667
I didnt watch the show but I watched the skit replayed and Bernie waa great. He did far better than HRC and I say that because he was funny and she wasn’t.
They missed the obvious opportunity to do a Waldorf and Stattler sketch…
I have never seen one
So, there, now he’s explained the democratic socialism thing. You all can stop it with the hand-wringing.
This was very funny, along with his skit about his campaign…TOTALLY hilarious.
Go to youtube stattler and waldorf. I can’t get a good link going today.
PROPERGANDERS! PROPERGANDERS!! SHERIFF JOE, SAVE US!!
We DEMAND equal time in the form of a four-hour Drumpf special required to be carried on every network during prime-time, pre-empting the super bowl…or it’s just not FAIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…
MAKE MURKA DERP AGAIN!
Go Bernie, Go.
Yes, Picking up on the Muppet reference would have been great!
maybe our brave neo-cons can crash the Puppy Bowl. I plan to watch it!
Pretty good, but the “Bern Your Enthusiasm” bit was way funnier. At least to me.
If Bernie were to pull off the sweet '16 miracle, Larry David would be useful in his administration.
He could send him to do frivolous meetings and appointments and even Saturday Night Live. It would be David doing David doing Bernie, Hi-freaking-larious!
I tried to watch the show, but I the flat jokes are so cringe-inducing I finally gave up. IMHO, this clip is only meh too – only interesting because of the novelty of Sanders – but I did laugh out loud when Larry David retorts about the “Sandervisky” name change “Yeah, that’ll trick 'em.”
“Democratic socialism,” Sanders responding, saying there was a “yugeee” difference between the two.
Uh, don’t you mean “yuuuge,” not “yugeee?”
In the context of the skit they made it seem like Sanders was siding with the the old white guy whining about the concept of “women and children first.” That’s the difference between socialism and democratic socialism?
Optics matter. Not sure this was helpful to either Sanders campaign or in making a “yoooge” distinction between socialism and democratic socialism. If anything that distinction, along with opportunistic old white men, seemed to be the butt of the joke. I suspect Bernie got played and didn’t even realize it. Or the writing on SNL is really just that vague and toothless.
A perfect metaphor for the Bern-mentum that could put the next three Republican Anarchists on The Supreme Court!
Here, we can rearrange these deck chairs!
Is THAT all you think it will take to counteract five months of wall to wall fear & smear from the entire mainstream media (who will turn him into a laughingstock) and the Republican attack machine, to a dumber than rocks voting public?
I’m sad if you’re this naive. He won’t know what hit him.
I usually avoid the personal, but I am also sad. I’m sad that you lack a sense of humor. I’m also sad that you seem to despise the American people so much. Maybe politics isn’t your thing?
Not sure how the heck you came up with that interpretation. Perhaps try watching it again.
