Discussion for article #243711
Tent preacher to da max!
Trump’s reaction should be entertaining.
Carson in third place? Guess the talibangelicals finally realized Carson’s black.
Damn, where is that popcorn and whiskey - Donald is going to lose it mentally now, and we get to follow every incoherent tweet and outrageous speech all the way until he hits bottom.
Donald, I think you should go independent now - this is NOT fair.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz now has a firm lead among likely Iowa Republican caucusgoers
… yay?..
So Iowa goes from the War on Muslims to the Carpet Bomber In-Chief. God help them . . . and us.
This is good news. Additionally Cruz was endorsed by Family Leader a right wing “Christian” organization. These two issues ( leading in the polls and endorsement by VanderPlatts and Family Leader) could lead to Cruz winning Iowa. Winning Iowa is a sure sign of not winning the Republican nomination. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Uh-oh…fasten your seat belts…blah, blah, blah.
Why do Republicans keep supporting people who weren’t even born here???
So Ted Cruz is this years version of Michelle Bachman?
Bye Ben.
Maybe people got sick of hearing you say something dumb every day?
A majority of GOP primary voters – 52% – are planning to vote for either Trump or Cruz in Iowa. Nationally it’s a near-majority at 46% according to RCP.
lolz
The November general election is going to make Goldwater '64 look like a “squeaker.”
Never underestimate the power of the sheeple… it happened to us in 04
The Donald will say “that poll is not reliable since he is not leading it” IMHO.
If the purpose of the poll was to gauge Republican support in advance of the Republican caucuses, why in hell are these idiots polling a large majority of non-Republicans? That make no fucking sense at all.
Edit: I had to go to the poll to find out that both Democrats and Republicans were polled in their respective races, a fact that the article here left out.
In any event, this result is entirely predictable. The Iowa Republican primary/caucus base is very heavily Evangelical Christianist, and now that Carson has revealed to the world he’s just too much of a buffoon to take seriously, Pastor Cruz is the logical heir to Carson’s support. Trump simply isn’t capable of convincing the Iowa fundies he’s one of them, which is a problem he’ll have in South Carolina and other heavily Evangelical states.
This is what I and a few others here on this board predicted right after the '14 midterms. That the GOP base was sufficiently emboldened to fully support one of their own far Right Klown Kar drivers and be damned with anyone else. We were told by some here that nope, that’s not right, the crazies will just fall in line and, eventually, get their come to Jesus talk by the Establishment and things will happen as they always do.
Until they didn’t.
“What the hell is Monmouth? I only like polls that treat me well.”
– Donald Trump, last Monday, after a Monmouth University Poll showed him losing his number one position in Iowa to Ted Cruz.
