So 40 or so religious families flee the crime, poverty and decadence of the big, bad city to the middle of nowhere to devoutly practice their deeply held religious beliefs, without bothering anybody else, are now being hunted and threatened by some idiot Christian from 2000 miles away who wants to destroy them because he doesn’t approve of their religion.
I hope they have lots of legal firearms.
I went on a terrible canoe trip up there once. It’s the boondocks, not far from where the manhunt for the PA trooper killer was.
I’m sorry your canoe trip was a bust, but it is a truly lovely area, in large part because it is free of too many people (boondocks). It is somewhat close to the endless mountains and the Poconos (manhunt), but really quite different (the latter being very heavily populated).
Why would the town be nicknamed “Islamberg” with an E, rather than “Islamburg” with a U? “-berg” is a fairly common ending of Jewish surnames, whereas “-burg” comes from the German word for fort and is the origin of borough, far more common to municipalities. Is there some irony intended by combining Muslim and Jewish elements in the nickname? Or is it meant as a slam on New York in general? Or are the two simply interchangeable?
Hey, Ritzy…If you pass through Massachusetts north shore any time soon, throw me a PM. I’d be glad to call you and your little tribe of clowns terrorists to your face. Your childish intimidation tactics are laughable.
I came late to this show even though people everywhere were recommending it, including Keith O. who had Jason Bateman as a guest once or twice. It’s a nice escape at the end of the day.
