Discussion for article #242314
“It is absolutely absurd to say that I had any kind of a relationship with them.”
Except for taking their money.
To endorse their product.
Over a long period of time.
But other than that, no relationship whatsoever.
Carson spoke one truth on the debate stage.
No, it speaks to the fact that I don’t know what’s going on.
Ain’t that the truth? The audience laughed, but the thought of Carson as president is quite frightening.
So what were these challenging health problems that he faced?
Further, he sounds much more fluent in the videotape that he does currently.
And does anybody know what is actually in the Mannatech products and whether or not it matches what is on the label?
Frightening indeed. Takes my breath. Carson or Cruz, all of them: The choice of cancer or polio.
btw, Left Behinder Kirk Cameron loves him.
read comment 3 from “joe” – These people vote.
the big takeaway I got from the CNBC GOP debate is conservatives booing the intrusion of reality and cheering lustily for comforting lies and deceptions.
This habit of avoiding reality, more than any single other factor, is what dooms them in elections where everyone (not just partisan political nerds) votes.
He’s on to you, Ben. Better take him out. Invite him close and then shiv him in the gut.
Wonder if any of the nurses who worked with Dr Ben in the Operating Room would be willing to give any impressions of him…
Surgeons under stress reveal a great deal about the real man behind the mask.
I’m married to a pediatric neurosurgeon, and he says Carson’s reputation among his peers is not that high.
IMHO this complicates the image of the guy as a low-key, perhaps brain-damaged, childlike person with horrifying and absurd beliefs. He’s also, it seems, able to lie blandly on a national stage with the same calm, unruffled demeanor. No longer sure there’s not some sort of conscious play-acting going on here.
No…I think he’s just psychotic.
Rick Scott in FL made his medical fraud charges the cornerstone of his campaign. He convinced the greedy that he was smart enough to game the system and so could they? Carson is winking and nodding to the small time crooks in the GOP base. Never could figure out what his appeal was. Now I do.
You, too, can pay off your past due taxes for pennies on the dollar?
Trump and Carson are nothing but grifters preying on other grifters. That’s where their appeal begins and ends.
“You’re Kirk Cameron. You used to be in TV. You used to be big.”
“I am big. It’s the TV that got small.”
He certainly thinks he’s smarter than everyone else like a famous paper hanger from the mid 20th century.
I may have to revamp my theory that the good Doctor is self-medicating. Maybe it’s the supplements he admits to taking that are the cause of his rather addled state. Whatever it is, this man is about to fall over the edge into the abyss of total, abject stupidity.
Let’s let it be another big blindside like the last two general elections. These guys never learn. Let them die of humiliation once again. I’m all for letting them think they have a chance…even though they don’t.
In addition to the issue of Carson lying about his connections with a sleazy company, I find the PBS aspect of the story somewhat troubling.
Why is PBS producing and broadcasting an hour long show that allows Carson to tout a product (even if not by brand name) that he has a financial relationship with? Seems to me this violates both medical and journalistic ethics, and should never have been allowed to happen.
Ben Carson is seriously “not all there.” He’s got something missing upstairs. Just from the things he says and the way he comes off (always appears to be falling asleep) his behavior makes me wonder if he’s on something.
There’s this thing pathological lying. As a person who unfortunately encountered two such people in my life before, I personally don’t see any contradiction between “perhaps brain-damaged… beliefs” and “play-acting,” though this “play-acting” may not necessarily be conscious.
