Discussion:

Both sides are deposing their leaders and going into next week without a clue as to how to do something besides re-name Post Offices and shut down the government. right

Just ask the ‘liberal’ media.

I’m trying to imagine how McCarthy could arrange to have an affair…his speech is so garbled, how would she know where to show up to meet him and stuff?

The people of Ellmers’ district might regret not replacing her with Clay Aiken

Another sexy conservative hunk off the market for a few weeks. Another values voter’s heart throb sidelined on the football field of raucous sex. Another evangelical love child cast adrift in a dumpster on the seedy side of town. Another corporate greed machine in shop for a good lube job.

Your typical Freedom Caucus crook.

They weren’t true conservatives evidently. Perhaps they should have called themselves “The Young Assault Weapons.”

If the folks in the GOP didn’t repeatedly proclaim family values, at least they would not be hypocrites, when they broke their marriage vows.

Well, hell, Catherine, if a fucking chain email went around about it, that settles it. I guess this means Obama is really from Kenya, too.

I’m enjoying the current clown show in the house as much as the next person, and I’d love to see Ellmers slink away in shame, but rumors belong in bullshit publications like the National Enquirer or Washington Post.

What a fucking farce of a story.

Issa wants to be Speaker of the House. People in hell want ice cubes. I hope the people in hell get ice cubes before Issa becomes Speaker.

Why are you criticizing her for reporting on a story that was started by republicans?

" If you look at every rate where you go through, America is the second highest where they go. If you look at how the jobs are departed, you find that statistically we are too high." Kevin McCarthy, candidate for Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, 2015.

It is a travesty that the media does not present relevant information. That Kevin McCarthy was nailing a House colleague does not bother me. Sex is not a bad thing. However, it seems that the sexual activities were in fact responsible for his withdrawal and for the lack of support from fellow Republicans.

The main stream media is blaming the Tea Party conservatives when it was the sexual indiscretions that caused Kevin McCarthy to resign.

Many Republican party Speakers have been involved in sex scandals including: Newt Gingrich who was nailing the House Agricultural committee help while launching impeachment proceedings against President Clinton, Bob Livingston had sex with numerous women, and Denny Hastert was involved in the sexual abuse of young boys. They all ran and were elected Speaker.

Tea Party conservatives like Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat of Michigan and Tim Kelly and Tara Mack of Minnesota have been caught having sex – the latter with their pants down and skirt up, respectively, in a House parking lot.

Sex is not the story here. Withdrawal from the Speaker race is. The mainstream media should report on the sexual activities and indiscretions that are relevant to understanding the events. Here they are making excuses up.

The illicit sex explains why Kevin McCarthy brought his wife and daughter to the House on the day of the resignation and why Rene Elmer’s lawyers were also filing lawsuits that day.

Same reason I’d be pissed if TPM reported a story of an affair between Bernie Sanders and Caitlyn Jenner if the story was based on a rumor started by Conor Friedersdorf in an email.

This story says that “Right-wing rabble-rouser Chuck Johnson detailed the alleged affair on his news site”

Really? “News site”???

Whatever you want to call the cesspool Charles Johnson posts on the internet, referring to it as a “news site” strains credulity.

It was something like, Dude-how ya going to be Speaker when everyone knows you got your brains effed out by a married woman that isn’t your wife?

McCarthy, I kind of get your point about my brains.

I’m pretty sure you’re right. When I saw McCarthy’s presser with his family in tow, his wife kept staring daggers into his back and I thought “what’s going on here?”. Now I know.
