Discussion for article #241596
Well, at least he had a fun-filled reason for pre-quitting.
Is it possible to embarrass the Republican Caucus? Wouldn’t that require a certain amount of self-reflection?
I don’t think that’s possible for the Party That Knows No Shame.
Saw this on a right wing site yesterday and thought…what lovely people we have making laws and spending money on our behalf.
Apparently not. Not for the party of “family values and traditional marriage”
Chuck Johnson started this rumor? I feel icky.
Its pretty much everywhere, except in the MSM. Its one of those things that everybody in D.C. knows about, but refuses to tell the public.
The affair has been rumored for about 6 months now. Whether there is an actual affair or not is besides the point, actually. The fact that they were threatening him over it was the reason why he backed out of the race…and that’s the story.
“This is my rifle, this is my gun…”
Never mind. It just popped into my head because he co-wrote Young Guns with a couple of other flame-outs from his caucus. They were so young and, um, in love when they wrote the book. Seems so long ago.
I heard from a friend that Issa wanted to be Speaker. Pretty bad choice from what I know about him.
I think Ryan’s being smart about refusing given the current repub climate.
Found it:
Issa made that statement at the tail end of his statement about Ryan “soul searching” over the weekend…right before Ryan said “NO!” for the umpteenth time.
Which just further underlines what a crock Issa’s statement was.
Two down, and trying to push the third into the firing line.
How Kennedy-esque.
The more the GOP “begs” Ryan the more obvious their lack of leadership skills is exposed. When even the MSM is taking note you know it is bad. I love this stuff.
Yeah, the threat of a possible affair makes him an illogical chose for Speaker and NOT the fact that the ONLY bills her EVER produced during his time in Congress amounted to renaming things,
An Ellmers spokesperson told The Daily Mail on Thursday that the affair allegations were “unequivocally and indisputably false.”
Well, that settles it. They were banging each other for sure.
Conservative Leaders: Truly an oxymoron.
Somehow this has to be really bad for democrats.
“Leadership” in the new GOP is apparently a suicide mission.
Democrats are in limbo with no one to turn to for advice and leadership now that Republicans have detonated their own caucus. And this is bad for Hillary Clinton. Because of the emails about Benghazi and all of the strife she has wrought around the world. And that illegal server in her bathroom.
