Discussion for article #241059
It’s pretty clear that the young man knew that if he brought in a clock to school, the teachers and police would arrest him for the crime of being Muslim. Therefore, it’s all his fault.
This just adds to the likelihood that the clock was never the issue; this was the town’s Christians trying to destroy the life of a boy to mess with his father. The father being a local Moslem leader who argued with them about how it is wrong to burn a Koran…
“We’ve heard more from the media than the child ever released to the police when we were asking him questions,” she said. “He told a lot more to the reporters than he ever told to the police. There’s a problem with that.”
The “problem” is the First and Fifth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
This Mayor is a nasty piece of work— and plays one on TV.

I am sure the Mayor believes that the black Muslim inviting the boy to the White House proves she is right.
The police chief said, “We have no evidence to support that there was an intention to create alarm or cause people to be concerned," the day after the incident.
Mayor, listen to the police chief and STFU.
He was more forthcoming with people who were giving him a chance to tell his story than with a prejudiced and hostile administration and police force who were stomping all over his rights.
It shows the wily middle-eastern* mind set, if you ask me.
*(Yes, I know he was originally South Sudenese, but I sorta doubt if the Islamophobes know where that is.)
Trump now has his Vice President candidate.
The face of white privilege. She must have been one mean bitch cheerleader.
Watched a CNN interview with the Irving PD Chief the day after.
While that quote sounds accurate-- the takeaway I got was extreme tone-deafness by the man.
Seemed he was positioning his department against a lawsuit-- and not much more.
What supports that quote-- that thought?
It’s that there was no bomb-squad brought onsite-- nor any students evacuated.
If the officials of Irving TX are explaining their actions with different excuses 2 weeks later?
They’ve lost their foothold on any perception of the truth of the matter-- while digging the hole deeper.

Bill Maher and Richard Dawkins hate brown Muslim people so much that they’ll side with these bigoted assholes before siding with a profiled and falsely-arrested 14-year-old boy. Both sides do it?
“The fact that I’m getting any kind of attention for doing this is scary,” she said.
No, the fact that you’re an elected official is scary. The stupid, it burns.
“Evidence?” That’s pre-9/11 thinking.
Paranoia on display in its full ugliness. And the paranoids are proud of their psychosis.
Time for some slander lawsuits to be filed.
All the while failing to see that their fear of Sharia Law is so extreme is the Christian version of the same thing.
Seriously irony proof dumb shits
No hat, no cattle.
Occam’s razor says it’s a clock.
Hanson appeared alongside the Irving mayor in Beck’s studio and went beyond his previous argument that Mohamed brought “half a bomb” into his high school.
By that logic, so did every student with a smart phone. Why weren’t they arrested again?
