It’s pretty clear that the young man knew that if he brought in a clock to school, the teachers and police would arrest him for the crime of being Muslim. Therefore, it’s all his fault.

He was more forthcoming with people who were giving him a chance to tell his story than with a prejudiced and hostile administration and police force who were stomping all over his rights.

Watched a CNN interview with the Irving PD Chief the day after.
While that quote sounds accurate-- the takeaway I got was extreme tone-deafness by the man.
Seemed he was positioning his department against a lawsuit-- and not much more.
What supports that quote-- that thought?
It’s that there was no bomb-squad brought onsite-- nor any students evacuated.
If the officials of Irving TX are explaining their actions with different excuses 2 weeks later?
They’ve lost their foothold on any perception of the truth of the matter-- while digging the hole deeper.
