Discussion for article #240116
âWell, that is a gotcha question, though,â he said. âI mean, you know,
when youâre asking me about whoâs running this, this this, thatâs not,
that is not, I will be so good at the military, your head will spin. But
obviously, Iâm not meeting these people. Iâm not seeing these people.
Now it probably will be a lot of changes, Hugh, as you go along.â
Now Iâd say that answer is word salad from someone who is clueless.
Heâll be so good at the military? WTF is that?
âTrump, who has touted his military prowess in multiple speeches and
interviews, said questions about the Islamic State and other world
terror organizations were âinappropriate.ââ
Inappropriate for whom? A Head of State?
for all his posturing & preening & posing, it is astounding how little Drumpf has actually said, of any consequence (that wasnât an insult), pertaining to ANY issue. âGood at the military?â How? Where? Was Geo W âgoodâ at the military? Apparently so, prior to 2003. After? Not so hot. Talk about a pig in a poke & sooooo many are soooo willing to trust this asshat!
Word salad is âbreezing through?â Since when?
âI played Battleship when I was a kid, and won every game, I think that speaks for my ability militarilyâ.
Iâm thinking if some dork wants to be POTUS they should answer the gotâcha questions because itâs damned sure they come up in private.
And what is Trump gonna do with nukes anyway?
He won by buying the damned battleship from the other kid.
EMPTY SUIT I am.
Anybody here wanna trust The Donald with command authority to destroy the world in 30 minutes because of a fit of pique at some other nation/group?
Not meâŚand itâs that thought that drives most of my vote. Asshattery is not a feature I want in my President.
Edit:
The GOP candidates rush to stupid like a moth to flame. It 's a shame to a lot of folks but a feature for them. And it shows in spades the thoughtlessness of the rubes that support them
To be fair, with Donaldâs head spinning, media heads spinning and our heads spinning weâre only really hearing about every fourth word pouring out of Donaldâs bridgework-filled mouth before we even factor in the sound obliterating meaty thwacks from Donaldâs personal Gestapo beating Latino demonstratorsâŚ
I read an article recently that suggested people are telling pollsters itâs no big if a candidate doesnât know jack about this or that, theyâll figure it out when they get in office. Which would be a hell of a lot more reassuring if we hadnât had a president who was clueless about a certain countryâs internal power struggles and place in the regional balance of power and went in happily, decapitated the society, and left the region in chaos that may last for a generation or longer. Fallows said Bush created that disaster by being ignorant, incurious, and âdecisive,â if by that we mean impulsive and bullheaded. I thought weâd decided that wasnât the best kind of person to be President. But maybe we just decided we donât want anybody named Bush any more? I really donât know these days.
To riff on Churchill: Bush and Trump, two men separated by a common (enter your favorite trait here).
Since Palin a âgotcha questionâ has nothing to do with the questionerâs intent. A gotcha question is one that reveals your ignorance, no matter why itâs asked or how much we might wish our potential leaders to know the answer.
As with his answer about his immigration policy, this is where âmanagementâ would do its magic in a Trump administration.
Thereâs a section of the American public that thinks that decisiveness is leadership. EVEN IF that decisiveness is incomprehensibly stupid and uninformed; doesnât mater to those people. These are the same cretins that attack Pres. Obama for âleading from behind.â
Thing is, 3 of the GOP candidates have zero experience at governing. Trumps answer reveals desperation, not confidence. And that should be unsettling. Heâs desperate and heâs not even faced with real crisis yet. Not good.
Is magic gonna be a GOP feature? How wonderful (sigh).
Yes. Striking, isnât it, that the very same members of the Base who criticized Obama for allegedly having no experience now have, as their top two candidates, no legislative or even traditionally âpoliticalâ experience at all. Unless âthe adulation of minionsâ counts as âpolitical experience.â
"Unless âthe adulation of minionsâ counts as âpolitical experience.â
Hoo boy

Fiorina didnt ace the question she gave a boiler plate answer without diving deep into the issue
