WTF is Fiorina talking about? Has she seen such a map? It exists?  All this hand wringing about Israel's security is so tiresome. They have nuclear weapons. They have a very advanced, well trained, fully manned military with the best weapons on the planet. Additionally, in a war the U.S., regardless of ANY political situation or administration in place at the time, is rushing to their defense, guns blazing. This is like worrying about the goddamned Washington Redskin's offensive line picking on J. J. Watt. Please, STFU.

Yes–but (damning-with-faint-praise alert) at least she gave some boiler plate. Trump couldn’t/can’t yet do even that, since it would stray into “whatcha gonna do about it??” territory instead of “This is outrageous and, by the way, I’ve been very successful” territory.

Actually she was spouting bullshit. So one candidate doesn’t know shit and gets defensive about it, the other spouts bullshit in more elegant prose and is proud of herself for pulling off the scam.

So indeed, hers must be the “superior intellect.” Actually they are both frauds. Fiorina is just more smooth and articulate.

I’ll be perfectly honest, I can see the argument for “gotcha question” with something like “what do you read?” because it could be a bit of a surprise to get asked that as its not really related to the issues (altho, anyone who isn’t a tapdancing ignoramus should be able to just converse about such a thing off the cuff). But this? Terrorism, regional/international unrest, refuge issues, arms races, etc.? If you don’t have a fucking answer to that, then you don’t belong on the goddamn stage in the first place. At least Fiorina was capable of vomiting some vapid, canned talking points and what not…even though anyone with a brain in their head should recognize it for a non-answer impliedly steeped in the neo-con mythology of righteous US world dominance through military action.

Had he said “diplomacy” or even “foreign relations” he could at least have been given a pass.

Uh huh. And those are the very same people that sneeringly call President Obama a community organizer and screeched for years about him being unqualified because he doesn’t have any experience at any thing but being a community organizer.

Ignorance is to be revered in republican candidates, intelligence and competence is to be disdained in Democratic candidates. Its a GOP mantra.

Since Mr. Trump has established that foreigners are clever and inherently hostile, isn’t it possible that they could someday attack us with “Gotcha Questions?”. Don’t we want someone in power who is capable of answering them? I know he’d refrain from answering those questions, as they likely qualify as “Gotch Questions”. The stupidity is palpable. I will never forgive his supporters if he’s elected.

Are we being treated “unfairly”…yet?

It must have been very nice of all those Wharton professors in not tossing anything too complicated and “gotcha” in Trump’s direction.

Ultimately, it is Fiorina who is the more dangerous of the two and for me, she has replaced Scott Walker and Marco Rubio as the most effective GOP Brooklyn Bridge salesperson.

If being asked what you’ve recently read is an unfair query of someone aspiring to be the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet WTF is fair game? It is reasonable to expect a potential Prez nominee to be a reader, correct? And what they choose to read is legitimately a window into their interests, to what they find important or necessary to know? I don’t see it as a “gotcha” question in any sense.

For those who asked “what does this mean”, it means he will be good at talking about (or bullshitting about) the military and foreign policy pretty soon. He is just hasn’t had someone prepare those Cliff-notes yet. I don’t mean that as just sarcasm.

There’s a section of the American public that thinks that decisiveness is leadership.

Right. For example recall Giuliani and Fox in awe of Putin going into Crimea without out any discussion with the rest of his government. Rudy was all over that “Leadership”. I was embarrassed for him exposing his desire to Mr Big Boss just like Putin. Never mind the fact that Rudy had a command center built for himself then just used it as a swinging bachelor pad. When disaster actually struck his command center was among the first things destroyed.

Israel…

This might be an unpopular point of view but even though they have a good military it does not mean they are immune from attempts on their security at both state level actors and small groups or even individuals. I think the issue is not whether all of Iran’s newly available funds are used toward that end at a state level.

I’ve said it before but the way you beat Donald Trump is you let his ego snarl at journalists when they ask him a question he simply can’t answer cause he doesn’t know enough. When he complains that they are asking him ‘gotcha’ questions, you ignore his whining and you keep on doing it over and over and over and over and over.

This is why I’m really not concerned with Big Door. His entire platform is “I’m mad.”
