Oh, hey, UNFAIR! This is crazy, stupid Texas. Why shouldn’t the Golden Triangle Militia be the official paramilitary arm of Orange County? In fact, why aren’t they the ruling junta in Austin? These folks have their rights. I call bullshit here.

Carlton “publicly announced the Reserve Militia exists and the County has all authority to call the Reserve Militia into duty.”

I thought there were enough people running away from the sound of gunfire in Texas. Why would the country want another?

I think the next time there is a shooting, the county should call Smith to the rescue and see if he shows.

Smart move. Liability insurance would be near impossible to find or afford.

Smith saw a ray of sunshine in the decision, however. He told TPM in an email that Carlton "publicly announced the Reserve Militia exists and the County has all authority to call the Reserve Militia into duty."

If you took the five most pathetically sad recently dumped boyfriends you’ve ever humored as they drunkenly explained why they just knew the ex-girlfriend would definitely come back, and boiled down the pathetic sadness of all five together, it would be about this pathetically sad.

So that these fine citizens didn’t go away empty-handed, the court could have at least awarded them each a coupon to obtain a copy of the free Remington Arms calendar for 2016 upon its printing this fall. It’s both a practical and attractive addition to any bunker.

Orange County is the location of Vidor, one of the most infamous “sundown towns” in the state. Nothing should surprise us coming out of that county.

Not everyone.
For as long as I’ve been in Texas and far longer I would imagine-- the cities of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange have been called such publicly-- as they were close in proximity and housed and supported aspects of the local oil refineries.

Possibly-- even further back than the Americanized term that as far as I can tell was coined in the 1950’s-- for the SE Asia area.

Maybe if they’d chosen a brand name that didn’t suggest they were Southeast Asian heroin warlords . . .

Well that just goes without saying. Non-white guys with guns = thugs.

Mister Clean Comitatus looks like he’s trying to burn right through the county clerk with his eyeballs. Will that work on stubborn toilet stains?

I was about to say that given the age, surely there were some Vietnam vets in there group. Then I realized that it’s a lot more likely that any fat dumb lardass who wants to do paranoid soldier cosplay and is in the Vietnam draft eligible age cohort “had other priorities.”
