The fact that this is what conservatives regard as a substantive topic for discussion is further evidence of the Republican Party’s increasing pettiness and superficiality.

I don’t question President Obama’s motives–just his faith, patriotism, and love of his fellow Americans (some of whom, like one R. Giiuliani, are distinctly un-lovable).

Guiliani is is full of crap. Not bull … that’s manure and fertilizes, but crap that pollutes. He meant to disparage the president, mostly out of pique and envy, if not outright racial animosity.

I agree. We should close Guantanamo, free those still held there, prosecute torturers, end drone strikes, stop blaming religious beliefs for our poor behavior, and so on. Those things would really draw a sharp, clear distinction between us and those who threaten our way of life.

Does Rudy really want to have a discussion about love of America? Does Rudy want to explain where his company’s revenue comes from? Maybe he should talk to Peter King about his love of a group that was considered a terrorist organization? Maybe he should ask all those Republican members of the Senate and House that have voiced support for Putin’s actions in the Ukraine while criticizing Obama? Maybe Rudy just needs to go sit his ass down in the corner and STFU.
