Does this asshole think we’re all that stupid?

And, you don’t need a doctorate to post less than 140 characters, you just have to be smart enough not to post something so mind blowingly stupid and insensitive and expect to get away with it.

I love that they are blaming it on Twitter.

“We don’t have a doctorate in Twitter,” Adams said. “We’re learning. That was a learning opportunity. We apologize.”

What’s to learn? You type your message, send it out, and then everyone can see it.

Until they hit “delete” when they realized how fucking childish it was.

Does any one know why the middle of the country is so bigoted and racist?

The interesting thing to me is how “We don’t have a doctorate in Twitter” is a blatantly obvious euphemism for lack of impulse control. Certainly this lack of self-control isn’t confined to Twitter; Twitter just happens to be a medium where the blowback hurts a little more than what a subordinate office worker or an abused spouse (or, dare I say, a victim of police abuse) is able to muster.

Will police officers ever realized they are under the microscope and everybody is paying attention to what they say and do? Stop being stupid. If you can’t help, keep your mouth shut - and by all means - don’t use social media.

Twitter is a very efficient medium for people to make fools of themselves, no matter how intelligent or reasonable they are in real life. If you want to lose respect for someone you admire, follow them on Twitter.

My point is, they may not be as reasonable as you think they are. I think Twitter creates an environment where people think they’re a lot safer than they really are. Abusive people can be very selective about when they let that side show.

Bullhockey. Keep it classy Indiana.

And now you know the mental bar for Indianapolis Police officer.

Perhaps (the police responding to Garner and Brown are good examples, though they’re giving the same responses elsewhere), but the whole setup of Twitter is arranged to encourage pushing out nuance-free statements on impulse. No other medium both 1) requires you to keep things short, which means leaving out context and qualification, and 2) encourages rapid communication without much thought into the implications of what you’re saying.

You know what else they’re still learning? To shut their fucking mouth.

The cops in this country are walking a fine line right now. And it’s probably one they shouldn’t cross because nothing good can come from it at this point.

That just means that even more people see it.

MMMMMM…Indiana. One of the states I absolutely hate driving through simply because the cops are so over-the-top aggro.

Yeah, they are “learning” alright…about not advertising your brutal mindset on the Intertoobz.
