Yeah, well, this is a poll taken in 2016. In a few months, Cruz’s stock is going to shoot way up, since he’s been one of the few Republicans willing to poke his finger in Trump’s eye, and, even more, did it at the Republican convention. That’s going to count for a lot once Trump goes down hard. Cruz is going to be one of the few people who can credibly say, “Look, I did everything I could to warn you about this guy, and now look what happened.” He really set himself up well for 2020 with that convention speech. Mind you, I’m not saying Cruz is worthy of anything other than a knee to the groin, only that he was smart, and, though it hurts to write this, even showed some guts. Tom Cotton chose to grovel at Trump’s feet. In a few years, that’s going to mean something.
Never underestimate the power of Texas alcoholics who feel a special connection to Perry…

I have always thought Perry was a dim bulb but I discovered the other day that the Republican money people love him because they think he is very bright. The debate performance that informed the rest of us was just the result of lack of sleep and prescription drugs.
Brownback has to be at least the second #DumbestGovernorInAmerica, but only because he wasn’t stupid enough to run for president in 2016
I’m always wondering whether I prefer a bowel obstruction or explosive diarrhea. I guess this is one followed by the other. Poor (sane) Texans.

This makes perfect sense. In order to be a successful Republican politician, you must be both belligerent AND stupid. Perry “trumps” Cruz on the latter.

Watching the o’l Dominionist Weasel during the primaries was a real eye opener for me. He would attempt to make our nation a theocracy based on his interpretation of Christian theology. I would vote for Perry without hesitation if the election were between the two. Thankfully, I live on the West Coast which exists in 2016, not 1955.
